Questionable oil reading on a new 2021 Kamiq 1.0 TSI
Presumably the oil thins as it warms up and it is the measurement at that temperature that's important. If you measure it cold, it may be below the m inimum mark and so if you then top it up it is too full when the engine is warm.

Skoda Connect/Skoda Essentials - message "Cannot connect to server, please try again later"
Do other members get this message when trying to connect, and when they can finally connect, do they find any of their travel data missing from the period when they couldn't connect?

Any recent activity on the various Skoda clutch issues?
I had an issue with my garage over where they were unwilling to recognise a couple pf problems so eventually I raised the matter with Skoda UK via online chat asnd this had the desired effect.

2022 SKODA KAMIQ START/STOP Failure on Hill Starts
The automatic start/stop usually only works for me when in town and I've never experienced it on a hill. I would have thought the immediate solution if the auto stop/start didn't start would be foot on brake and into P, ignition off and then with foot still on brake, restart. If this doesn't work, then handbrake on, into P, ignition off and then restart might do it. As to the cause, well.......

Software Update for Bolero / Kamiq 2022
In my experience with my 2020 Kamiq when a message about a software update appears you just tap on "Update software" when the car is stationary.

Kamiq notchy gears
Mine is a 2020 SEL with the 1 litre engine.

Kamiq notchy gears
I'm on my second car with DSG and I've always found that as I lift my foot off the brake pedal and gently press the accelerator the car begins to move and once it's moving it will continue to speed up without me pressing the accelerator further. The exception is when the engine is cold and so is revving higher and then the car will move off when I lift my foot off the brake pedal without me having to press the accelerator. If in those circumstances I also press the accelerator, then it does move off more quickly and may need checking by lifting off the accelerator and maybe even applying the brake.

What is your favourite thing about your Kamiq?
Ditto until recently when a faint light metallicy rattle/vibration appeared from the steering wheel console area. Some days there, some days not and always disappears in a few minutes, so for the moment just waiting to see if it goes away.

What is your favourite thing about your Kamiq?
Me too. I wasn't happy with Lane Assist initially but either I have adjusted to it or it has adjusted to me or both. Certainly, I find that if you are gripping the wheel, then the tug is harder, but then you shouldn't be gripping the wheel. I found, too, that when I had a wheel alignment check done after clouting a kerb to avoid a heavy lorry that had decided to drive on my side of the road and the wheel aligner (not a Skoda dealer) actually misaligned the wheels, then Lane Assist became more violent.

Kamiq spare wheel
For some years I was a volunteer photographer with the local fire brigade and visited a retained station on the edge of the moors which, at that time, had the only 4x4 appliance in the brigade which had been transferred there from elsewhere. The "station" itself was basically a large garage and when the machine was moved outside for me to photograph I commented on the narrow clearance between it and the top of the door frame, a matter of millimetres. The driver then pointed out to me that the apppliance's tyres were half worn and that when new ones were fitted it would be impossible to get it inside, so there would be no problem about getting it out!

Anybody fitted aftermarket heated seats to a Kamiq
I went for the standard wheels then, so 16 inch.

Anybody fitted aftermarket heated seats to a Kamiq
That must have been a very short standard item as when I bought my present SEL in 2020 they were an option.

November Map Updates ?
I've found the Skoda satnav routes the same as the RAC and AA online ones.

What is your favourite thing about your Kamiq?
I've found with the DSG that about town it sometimes tends to hold onto lower gears longer than necessary. To deal with this, I switch to manual, although sometimes just switching to manual and then back to drive causes the DSG to hold the higher gear. As regards using D, I've found that you can "coast" on the level, down hill and up hill. Indeed, on occasions I've had to brake the car when going up hill in a stream of traffic at a steady speed when the engine has switched to D. Going downhill, I tend to switch to manual and use the brakes to control speed rather than braking while using DSG and causing it to select far lower gears than necessary, it improves economy no end.

I think page 93 comes under D for Driver Assist

What is your favourite thing about your Kamiq?
It's your extra height that does it. As I've said in another post, I use a Tempur seat cushion which helps with the problem. Maybe the MC seating is different to the SEL.

What is your favourite thing about your Kamiq?
Ah, two inches taller than I am and it would certainly help. I've solved the seat height problem after a fashion by a Tempur seat cushion.

What is your favourite thing about your Kamiq?
I had DSG on my Fabia and had no problems in 90,000 miles.

What is your favourite thing about your Kamiq?
I had a Fabia for 90,000 miles with no problems with seat height and parking. The Fabia scuttle line was lower than the Kamiq's, hence the problem with the Kamiq.

What is your favourite thing about your Kamiq?
I have the seat at maximum height. Were it higher, the other problem would be improved if not removed entirely.

What is your favourite thing about your Kamiq?
Favourite things - very quiet, good gearbox (DSG model), very good economy (settings are on eco mode), a journey of any length (even as low as 30 miles) can give low to high 50s per gallon and even short runs can turn in 40mpg plus depending on traffic conditions. Best performance 60.2mpg on a 44m trip. A recent 56 mile drive starting at 50m above sea level and involving climbing Sutton Bank (294m) and ending at Ripon (40m above sea level) turned in 56.4mpg. Bad points - driver's seat too low and the body shape widens out towards the window line and this obscures lines delineating parking spaces and, as a result, you need to have the driver's door mirror adjusted so you can see these in it and that stupid air con control system via a screen. Otherwise, best car I've ever owned and I've owned Toyata Yaris, Mercedes A class and VW Polos as well as various Skodas starting with an S100l.

Removing centre air vent on front passenger side
Thank you, and it certainly doesn't look easy. Hopefully, the problem may have been the result of work done recently by the garage, so they would have to right it.

Removing centre air vent on front passenger side
I've noticed that the centre air vent for the front passenger no longe opens and closes when I slide the grille from side to side. I spotted a small piece of plastic inside the housing and managed to fish it out and it is clearly a connector which attaches to the grille and, via a fork to the vent. Has anyone any experience of removing the grille, please, or is it going to be a massive job where you have to disassemble half the centre dashboard or similar? Any diagrams would be helpful.
