  1. Can't say I've experieneced this with my Amundsen, albums in their own folders and they play in album order OK
  2. On the way home from work last night as I braked a warning pinged up on the dash "Parking brake failure" and a yellow warning triangle at the bottom of the maxidot, i was still moving at the time so found this a little disconcerting as I hadn't even tried to apply the parking brake ! When I pulled up at the next junction and came to a full stop another message popped up "Auto hold Unavailable". At the first opportunity I got I pulled over turned the ignition off, removed the key and then restarted the car, no warnings whatsoever, thinking this was a glitch I proceeded on my merry way, next junction I noticed the auto hold didn't engage (no green indicator on the dash) and taking my foot off the brake resulted in the car creeping forward. The parking brake appears to be functioning fine (red indicator illuminates). Phone call to the dealer today and it's booked in for next week, strange how it doesn't repeat the error/warning after restart though.
  3. Does seem strange, on my old Octavia Elegance (equivalent to the SEL), stayed on individual everytime I started the car
  4. This is my 3rd, just don't remember similar issues in my previous 2 (6 & 7 speed)
  5. I find that the Karoq isn't as warm as my old Octy, I used to have that on 18°c to 20°c most of the time, however my Karoq is constantly on around 22°c !
  6. Done that trick many a time
  7. Only annoying thing I have really found with my Karoq is the inconsistency between the time it takes to go from Manual back to Auto after using the paddles. I don't use them very often at all, but two examples are long uphill road, flick the paddle to change from 3rd to 4th as the auto holds it in 3rd and just sounds like it's over-reving, within a few seconds the maxidot changes from M4 to D4, yet when going downhill I had to tap the brake and then the auto again refused to change up (try to engine brake I presume), again flick the paddle from 3rd to 4th, and yet even when I hit level ground it took around 30 seconds to change from M4 to D4, are there specific parameters for this or is the DSG getting a bit confused ? I know you can hold the right hand paddle to force it to go back from M to D, but sometimes I find this causes it to change up another gear ! Not really a problem, just more curious than anything
  8. 11,000 miles on my March '18 1.5 DSG and 'touch wood' I haven't experienced any of these problems even when it was -4.5 degrees the other morning, hope you can get it sorted
  9. I notice the manual does state " Depending on your type of connected telephone ", but my Octy and the wifes old yeti were both the same, when accessing the phone through the infotainment on Android there are five icons at the bottom of the screen (as in the pic below), but on iPhone there are only four, the middle text message envelope one is missing. i assume this is an 'Apple' thing like them not letting you use 3rd party maps on Apple car play etc.
  10. Are you using iPhone or Android ? I think the reading and displaying of text messages is only available on Android, I never got the option on iPhone on my Amundsen system.
  11. Never had a 'fully maintained' lease, on my private lease it just states that the tyres must be rated the same, on my last car I had to change the fronts before returning it and put budget ones on, was Ok with the lease company. I've got 17's on my Karoq (Mar '18), Bridgestones I believe, great in the dry, pretty shocking in the wet to be honest.
  12. According to the on board computer, I regularly manage around 32mpg on the daily commute, on a long motorway run I can get 40'ish
  13. Leave it in the INT position on my SE Tech and works pretty well.
  14. Got one of these of ebay for about £4 for the wife Kia Soul and it works a treat, can stand right next to the car with the key in the pouch and it won't open, make the wife sleep much better at night knowing that they can't scan for the key. BTW the Soul does the same if you get out with the key and leave the engine running, lots of bongs and flashing icons on the dash but the engine keeps running !!
  15. Wheel spin aplenty lately on my 1.5 DSG, seems pretty much the norm at the moment, much joy to be had if the snow comes as forcast !!
  16. Had similar with my octavia, service light came on at 16,000, phoned dealer to book it in, they said wait until 18,000 if I could put up with the service warning ping every time I started the car.
  17. Exactly what I did, specifically asked the dealer for variable long term service on a 2 year, 30,000 mile lease, so only need to have it serviced once
  18. Did a run upto Manchester last week through the wonderful 50mph average speed limit roadworks and managed 55mpg, but boring as hell, the daily commute to work is currently sitting at about 32mpg
  19. I noticed mine states a space saver spare size on the label inside the petrol flap, something like 125/70 x 18, mine didn't come with a spare, so I assume this will be on all models
  20. Had the car 7 months and this is the first time I've experienced this issue. Jumped in the car Saturday, infotainment comes on when starting as usual but the radio just says 'please wait', tried selecting media (SD & Bluetooth) and the play option is greyed out , stayed like this for my 15 minute journey, next start up all was OK and hasn't happened since. Think I'll be keeping an eye on this
  21. I bought anaftermarket space saver with jack etc. and the foam insert that wraps around the wheel (less than £10 from Skoda), jack sits in the centre of the wheel and it all fits nicely, if you have the full sized spare doesn't raise the boot floor up ?
  22. Can say I've ever noticed it change when in either day or night mode
  23. Panther_uk

    Paranoid !

I'm on PCH and have hardwired my dashcam by piggybacking the rear wiper fuse. Easy to remove when the car goes back, did the same with my previous Octavia
