  1. a set of Eibachs and Jabba ARB should cure that
  2. Remap and then proceed to save up for a Wii instead
  3. Getting a similar problem with my rear brakes but as I'm currently sitting at 8700 miles, I was going to leave it until the 10000 service. I have found a good hard brake a few times, especially from 70 seems to reduce the noise. The weather has been appalling and certaintly has contributed to the problem.
  4. Fabia-vrs.com - Hesitation around 1800 rpm - Fabia vRS - BLT engine code.
  5. No probs this morning getting out of my road. ESP certaintly helps. Was impressed with the Bridgestones aswell. Left so early and had a good drive, I was one of the first into the carpark so I had a little play
  6. It must be the lemon fresh smell thats turning me into a washing bandit
  7. How have you managed to get away with never filling your bottle for so long? I've lost count how many times I've filled mine and I'm not always using the headlight washers. Agreed though the branded stuff is very good, accepted for warranty and I feel not bad value for money.
  8. Just following on from my first response (30/11/06) after having the modified gasket fitted. So far I've covered about two thousand miles, mainly being a 10 mile journey to and from work and a few long distance trips including a run to Newcastle. Even with the colder weather, it's still running 10x better than before. Only by really trying can I cause a minor hesitiation but in general the car is far more enjoyable to drive.
  9. Officially launched @ Geneva in March then launched in Europe afterwards. I'm guessing a UK debut late Spring but more likely Summer and vRS to follow next year.
  10. Mine also has a blind spot mirror on the drivers side. As Philip26 says could just be the parts available or as the Fabia is on it's runout they may only have the std mirrors left and aren't prepared to purchase new stock?
  11. When Locking: One click on the fob arms the alarm and activates the deadlocks. Two clicks on the fob disables both.
  12. It will be one of many reasons. New version, blame Europe, the fact their parents VW haven't done anything about it. However I assume the TDI won't be changing dramatically from the current so surely the hesitiation will be in the new 1.9 anyway?
  13. Providing the engine code is a BLT, you don't need to have the vagcom readout done. The bulletin instructs all dealers to fit the gasket if a customer turns up reporting the stutter.

  15. Backpacker: Your car is an Elegance? I remember when I visited my dealership to read the service bulletins because I wasn't sure if there was an ECU modification for the vRS, there was a seperate bulletin for the Elegance TDI 100 to have the gasket and ECU update. So prehaps your issues are more linked with the ECU update rather than the gasket. Personally I've had my gasket now for two weeks on my vRS and have only had one very minor stutter. Yes it's disappointing that the fix isn't an ultimate final solution but for the time being I'm pleased it's reduced the hesitation dramatically. My only concern is long term durability of the gasket and whether over time it will weaken and the stutter returns.
  16. Father owns a CTR and I'd admit it's a great car. Just laps up all the abuse you can throw it. Just did a run to Newcastle though over the weekend, 200 miles non stop in that is harsh on the back Keep hinting to him about getting a leather retrim.
  17. My car was stutter free until 2700 miles into it's life. Now just past 3100 and problem still exists. Interesting reading the EGR seems to be the main course. I'll talk with my dealer and Skoda UK next week and see what happens...
  18. go to www.drivethedeal.com and spec it up. You can order directly there or take the price and challenge the dealer. Reference to leather, Seat Surgeons do the seats and doorcards for around
  19. I just doubled check the bundle of info given to me by Skoda when I got my VRS and it states Shell Helix Ultra as the preferred oil choice. So this thread has confused me, you saying it's not suitable?!
  20. It's only £2 a bottle from my dealer, hardly bank breaking, 1 litre supply which should last a while and if anything goes wrong with the washers, warrenty covers it (for at least the first 3 years.)
  21. switches the re-circ on to stop fumes being sucked in whilst reversing. Fabia 12v did a video of it in action.
  22. My car turned up as standard plus my options. Seats were removed and sent off for retrim. Came back around a week later, refitted and job done. In answer to your question no the leather isn't the same but still looks good anyway
  23. Gave it a hard kick this morning along the back road (the only 60mph stretch I have on my way to work.) Cleared alot of soot out and it appears better since then. I believe now it isn't a problem, just a characteristic of the PD engine. Cheers though for your thoughts and suggestions
