  1. That was a Vauxhall Corsa Petrol powered.
  2. 🤣 I know what you mean about his voice. Seen by Monday, a week after it happened and its under warranty?
  3. He mentions Tesla of Aberdeen?
  4. The main story was not that it broke down, it was that he has had many faults with it and that Tesla seem unable to get him going again in a timely fashion. I keep hearing about how wonderful their service is. Its also about the other cars he has had with problems while in warranty and how the dealers were reluctant to look at the problems or to fix, which fits the story as told by John Cadogan that makers and indeed dealers will try and get away with doing nothing if they can.
  5. Having said that, look at this video about the chaos with flooding on the roads, at about 2:30 in the video, is that MG electric, I think it must be, thoughts? Most people have zero idea of what to do when the road is flooded 🙄
  6. Yes, I noticed that as well, but he did say that the connections were OK, so the battery has failed, or has it? It might the central control unit as the headlight failed first and just about everything on those Teslas is controlled via the touch screen, so maybe conventional switches? I know the Ranger Rovers usually have 2 batteries as well on thats on the ICE models. The main battery sits in the spare wheel well, under the spare wheel, and there is a auxiliary backup battery in the right-hand side of the boot behind a panel.
  7. Oh, dear an unhappy Tesla Model Y owner in Scotland, he has a YouTube channel called "Just get a Tesla" as he thought they were great cars, maybe not so great now with a car that died overnight, and he has had a lot of other cars before, and it was very interesting to hear him say that the car manufacturers refusing to honour warranties etc. At the time this video went live on YouTube, it had been days and still not been fixed by Tesla so all is not well in the Tesla camp so just maybe there might be a grain of truth in the other Tesla video with the £17,000 bill for a replacement battery after all? WE shall have to wait and see if there is any further published developments on that front.
  8. Yes, I think it must be one of those other 2 that you listed. Iran that Range Rover at Luton had personal registration number twice in its life, but they were all listed on the DVLA database. Are you supposed to let DVLA know if you change the colour?
  9. It could be either of those two plates as he may have had the car wrapped. Even it was on a personal plate, it still show up on the DVLA and Insurance systems.
  10. He also goes on to fully explain what he means by that and that a car should be more than capable of being driven in the wet and also that they should be designed that they can be repaired.
  11. This Tesla story has now reached the USA and also into the electronics world.
  12. Good grief, that was only 17 seconds long in total, and you do have arrow keys on a keyboard to fast-forward
  13. I did know that there were some tests being done, but I never posted about it because I thought that nobody would believe it, as everyone seems to chuck their weight behind Tesla, however they are not the leaders in electric trucks, these people are. Bing Videos
  14. But its still not confirmed either way.
  15. Haha, but Essex is much warmer lol. Honestly though, the last time I can remember that happening was was in the 60s when we never had things like heated mirrors, windscreens and rear windows and we had to blank part of the radiator off with sheets of cardboard, or you fitted a rad blind. That is when I fitted a second battery in my Hillman Minx and cars used to have steel bulkheads behind the rear seats. While other cars would be cranking for ages, to start, if pop in the key and start easy easy 👍
  16. Wow that's a harsh statement to make on a Skoda forum 😂. After having 4 VW Passats and 5 Skoda Superbs I never had any issues other than the first VW that had water ingress to comfort module, located in recess under the passengers carpet that caused the module to corrode and fail. Not sure but it was more down to snow from their boots rather than getting in from under the car.
  17. Neither would I, at 2ft it would be coming in to the car and then the carpets and all the insulation beneath the carpet is going to get soaked right through.
  18. True, my car was written off, but within a couple of weeks of the "wreck" being sold by Copart, it has bee repaired and put on the road again as the car is now currently taxed, so it begs the question, are cars being written off too easily.
  19. This is a bit like Apple stating that MacBooks, iPhones etc are not repairable, especially under warranty, if there is any sign of what they call "Liquid damage" which is indicated by special dots on the motherboard etc. It has been proved that these dots, changing colour, do not always prove that liquid has got inside to do any damage.
  20. The point is that they are implying should water get into the battery pack, then the Lithium will burst into flames, which is incorrect, if that was true, then why are various fire depts being equipped with special lancers which can punch a hole in the EVs battery case and then pump loads of water into it to cool the battery pack down. All the experts agree that the Lithium in battery is I believe Lithium Oxide (a compound) and as such it does not burst into flames. 21. Ok, badly worded but off-roading does also involve water driving even without added snorkel attachments etc. Bing Videos
  22. That article sprouts some rubbish, yes ICE does have a tailpipe but it does not become flooded unless you don't know how to drive through floodwater, keep in a low gear and let the engine rev and the exhaust pressure keeps the water out. Another mistake is that they claim if water penetrates the battery on an EV, the lithium will burst into flames, which it only does if the lithium is pure lithium, which in the case a EV battery it is not, its a compound. Does nobody actually check articles for accuracy before publishing it?
  23. Exactly what I said in another post the other day. Can you imagine having a house on fire and the fire engine won't be arriving because of the prevailing weather conditions? Utter madness.
  24. What a farce, a go anywhere vehicle that doesn't come prepared for for the basic off roading 🙁
