..... i seem to have destroyed my PC:O

Due to a bit of swapping stuff round it looks like i managed to put a light scratch in the PCB of my mobo which has probably cut a track or two. now it wont boot because it cant detect a gfx card :(

ive been relegated to the EEE at the moment (firefox 3 is really good at scaling webpages to fit the screen properly!!)

Not sure what to do really considering skt939 is old-tech.. cheap way would be 2nd hand mobo. or theres the new computer route.. ;)

Watch this space.... lol

I can probably get it repaired for the cost of postage if you want. No guarantee, but they will have a go.

I'd be amazed if you managed to break a track as they are pretty tough. Sure you haven't knocked off a surface mount tant/cap or forgot to reconnect the PCIe power connector ;)

If you're not 100% sure it is knackered or it's just small get a silver pen or some solder into it.

i'm still running my asrock dual sataII s939 as my main rig

it only cost 40 quid at the time so i am sure it will be for peanuts on the bay....

have a look on ebay, you maybe able to get secondhand another board the same as yours. I did this with my brothers pc after it was destroyed by a lightning strike.

If your mobo is spare, that would be great.. i dont fancy spending £400 today :o

Edit... whoops.

Ive now got a X48 mobo, Q9450 and 4gb of ram on its way to me :o

Sorry I've been fighting with a shredder for 2 hours. So you don't need the board now then ?????

Let me know!!!

Anyone else not have a clue what the heck this is about?

Could be written in Russian for all I care! ;)

Col has broke his big computer and has spent loads fixing it.

That help? :D

I know what they're saying :)

Ahhh, why didn't he say so? :P

Us IT types never do mate, thats what makes us seam to be so knowledgeable

If it's a gouge then this won't work :D Multi-layer boards, seriously sensitive to timing .... I think not! Multi-layer are almost never worth the time to repair unless they're one-offs or from obsolete kit IME.
