Standard Fabia Ride height

Recommended Posts

After being parked up next to MudPuppy and Skodaboy1983 lastnight, we all have standard suspension, but mine sits a lot higher then theirs.

Spoke to Neo_vr who confirmed they are the original springs/shocks.

I'm just curious as to why mine sits higher.

When you look up in the rear arch for example, you can even see some of my strut, where as Davys & Kays you cant.

Here's 2 pics comparing, both cars, both parked on the same bit of road, and mine is a good 15-20mm higher.

Mudpuppys car...standard height..

And mine, standard height.

Definately a difference, and you can even see my strut insert.

Any ideas ?

Mine is a 53 plate, and Kays is an 04.

Yes, they are the standard shocks and springs for that car.. i kept them in the garage when i was running eibachs..

You can probably see the strut on mine because the company who replaced the shocks mustnt have put the sleeves back on that go over the top.

get a tape measure on it... dont forget the 20mm spacers on the back wheels too will have an effect. (beyond my understanding of physics lol)

The cover is there...i can move it up and down by hand towards the bumpstop, and back down again.

It should be attached to the bumpstop, but that wont make any difference to the height, nor should the spacers.

It may be that with the car being one of the first fabia vrs's it was fitted with differerent suspension to later ones??

only way to check would be to compare the three blobs of colour on the springs to another vrs.

Would that define which springs they are ?
