in love with the fabia

Featured Replies

Oh dear, there is another one here

Don't get me wrong, the fabia vrs is a decent motor that has reasonable performance and good economy, both of which can be made better with a few choice modifications.

But going to the lengths of saying that it is the best hot hatch around, and being mind bendingly quick just seem very misplaced.

There are a lot of very nice performance cars that can be had for second hand vrs money.

That's right. It's very, very good for what it is, but it's never going to beat things like Civic Type Rs and RenaultSport Clios (despite what you might sometimes read on here! ;) ) I got mine because, at the time, it was the only fairly cheap, reasonably rapid, 5-door diesel supermini you could buy. Everything else was a 3-door, and with plans in the family direction, I didn't want to buy a new car just to have to change it again! There are a one or two competitors now in that category (Ibiza FR, Grande Punto Sport?) that might tempt me away in the future, but 4 years and 63k down the line, I'm not thinking about that sort of thing yet! :)

I wouldn't say they were the best hot hatch around, but for performance/cost it's great.

Not so sure i'd buy another one.

the good thing is though mate you can keep up with them and do nearly double mpg lol i no what your saying no one should say its the fastest thing since sliced bread however the feeling of the torque cant be matched by civics and clio's i know cos i owned both

i like the new 206gt 150thp but they havent help there money in the last year

stay clear mate i went for a drive in one before i got my vrs yes they look very nice but the gti one with 175bhp was bitterly disapointing in every aspect comfort performance handling etc i think the engine is shared with the mini cooper s but even so was not impressed to says it was a turbo engine

for value for money smiles per mile the VRS wins every time. Plenty of poke, 50+ mpg easily every week, cheap insurance, reliable, and in yellow they even look nice too.
