Today I am driving a ........

Roomster :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: courtesy car

And I have to admit it is nice to drive, very sure footed, the ride is very comfortable and there is acres of space ( almost as much as in a Superb) back door shelters you when it's raining and as it's quite light weight the 1.9tdi engine does very well and you can overtake things very quickly  it does however upset lots of people by beating them away from the lights (if looks could kill ).....I would have one if it just wasn't so pig ugly........one advantage of driving it ....it's one less to look at

I like the 1.4 diesel, drove one last year. Had a Fabia 2 today 1.4 petrol, was quite impressed and it had a white roof.

I think they look quite nice in 'Scout' form :o

Yes I agree the Scout version is more appealing to the eye. But I hate the poor visibilty that the driver has to put up with.

I thought it was okay personaly

my dad has a roomster scout pd105, and tbh i thought it was slow as hell, could desperately do with a remap.

i suppose coming from a mapped fabia vrs i couldn't really expect anything else. on the plus side the interior has come on in leaps and bounds compared to my fabia.

Remapped and with fettled suspension they are mucho fun - allegedly.

 I have found it's got brilliant visability from all angles. There is no blind spot and it's easy to park.

It will scare the pants off a standard Fabia VRS, no problems ;)

I'm in a new Fabia 1.2 today with "0% finance" emblazoned on the side - It sounds like a lawnmower/ Citroen 2CV and is not a lot faster either!

That's odd. Stickers are usually worth a minimum of 10bhp extra

I had a Roomy 1.4 Petrol on 48 hr test a while back, thought it was guttless and needed a 6 speed box, I'd like to try the 1.9 Tdi though

I had a roomster 1.4 diesel to drive the other day whilst my car in for a service.

I HATED it, so underpowered and soft ride :(

You still put a bag over your head when Dad gave you a ride in the courtesy one he got

LOL. True.

The roomster is a cracking car, tried one at Knockhill, hoping to drive one at the weekend when I drop car off at the service.

It is the perfect car if you do not wish to take your top-hat off to drive

Driving a horseless carriage without some form of millinery is a quite vulgar habit, I must say, that seems to be very much on the rise with the younger generation.

Just the other week, we had a Roomster in the car hire depot where I work. One of my colleauges in the depot - who is himself a former employee of the Skoda dealership in St. Philips, Bristol - told me it was coming.

Had a look at it and thought it was quite nice. The thought that passsed through my mind for a while was this:

If Skoda used to make pickup trucks (and I know they did because I have seen a T-reg one in Bristol several times) then perhaps they should take to making minivans? Same idea as a Roomster but with two or three seats in the front.

Dave

I wouldn't be surprised if one came along, as it has the right shape about. I also seem to recall a felicia version that was a mini van, a VW caddy underneath I suppose.

Oh yeah the Felicia Cube van or something..... eerily the Seat Inca (another Caddy) at work felt just like driving my old Felicia!

I wouldn't mind a Roomster Praktik at work. Considering our vans, has to be better than a) the battered Inca, B) the (thankfully) written off Citroen C15 and c) my Kangoo, but not d) our pimped VW Transporter - now THAT is fun!

  • 2 weeks later...

Today I've been driving my uncles Corsa 1.2

Was leaking oil on the way to the garage to have a new oil pressure switch.

It's lethargic compared to my Sisters Micra 1.0, gearchange feels sloppy compared to the Micra and my Felicia plus the steering is wooly and lifeless.

Plus the n/s mirror is missing making driving it quite an experience!!

Will be glad when my Felly returns

I'm driving a Roomster everyday
