your such a child! :P:D:D:D

Nice work mate, hoping that you have gone for a sensible suspension set up.........I mean don't waste money on something that doesn't make it look like it's been lowered............:D

Yes mate. I decided against the koni and eibachs in the end, purely for the fact i need to go lower than they would take it. The upshot is that im now booked in on the 26th at awesome for kw coilies :-) Other mods to come before that are colour coded grill and bumpstrips. I managed to get a complete grill on ebay for 20 quid, which was a bargain, and ordered some vrs smooth bumpstrips which i will pick up on saturday. The dimpled ones didnt look right even after i gave them several coats. Just got to colour code them all now and get them on. Will post a pic when they are on. Cheers, Damian.

Edited by damo :-)

Variant 1's then or Variant 2's? Nice set up and I recommend them even though you have already decided............:D

Not sure about the colour coded grille though..........:(

Will look forward to seeing the results............I assume that the BBS wheels are 18's?

My V1's went on today Damo. Get a move on..! ;)

Going to get some new BBS's sorted too I reckon - Not CH's again though! Your car should look spot on when the coilovers are on :)

Its booked in on the 26th mate, cant wait

So you also went for the coilies instead of the FSD's in the end then, how you finding the set up?

Which BBS you going for then Jon, because as you may know, technically speaking you never had CH's...

they are VZ033's :P

Cheers

Damian

Looking forward to seeing pics when the V1s are on!

Steve

Lol, they're CH's - Proper CH's without the daft writing on too! ;)

I might do some RC's. LM's or CK's would be nice, but I don't fancy stretching into four figures before I even think about rubber.

The V1's are ace. Look spot on for a start, and the handling on the way to work and back today on some roads I'm familiar with was fantastic. You'll be very impressed :)

Excellent, just what I wanted to hear

Never heard a bad thing about V1s, on any car. And I've known them be fitted to quite a range of motors

Any changes to your car lately Damo? Was it 26th of July or August that your car's booked into Awesome?

Hey up Jon,

I know Damo is having a few problems with his broadband at the mo after a house move.

There are a couple of pics of his car after being lowered in this thread.......

http://briskoda.net/yorkshire-skoda-meets/july-south-yorkshire-meet-photos/118338/

I was round at his the other day and he has a couple more changes to the car that look absolutely spot on which i'm sure he'll post pictures of when he's back online. ;)

Cheers

Dave.

Thanks Dave :)

It looks spot on now. Naturally not as good as a VRS, but good all the same ;)

Finally got my broadband sorted

Okey dokey, what have I been up to lately...

Well, I had a trip to Awesome for the KW v1 Coilies as mentioned earlier.

I cant say enough good things about the team at Awesome, really great service and I was delighted on the drive back home over the Woodhead, albeit the best part of a thousand pounds lighter

Its lowered an astounding 70mm, which just goes to show how high it was before. It will go down a bit more, but I think its fine where it is. Any lower and it could catch over speedbumps, and with 3 kids, pram etc. I didnt want to risk it tbh

The handling is also much better, I can corner much faster than before. Im also happy with the ride quality, not as hard as I thought it would be, so to say Im chuffed to bits with it is a huge understatement.

I was originally going to go with the Koni FSD/Eibach combo, but for the amount I needed lowering, Coilovers were the only viable option, but I can honestly recommend them to anyone thinking of suspension changes, they get a big thumbs up from me

OK, on with the latest mods.

Mod number 1

I had originally removed my black bumpstrips, and sprayed them up myself. Without being bigheaded, I did a fantastic job :D

One problem... they just didnt look right on the car :(

At first, I thought, is it because its new paint?

However, the colour match was really good, it simply came down to the strips themselves, not the paint.

They are thicker than VRS strips, and also have a dimpled effect to them.

I contemplated sanding them down, but in the end I just bought a VRS set, as they were smooth to begin with.

I was going to spray them myself, but I thought I may as well have them done professionally at the same time as

Mod number 2

Colour coded grill.

I managed to pick up a complete grill off Ebay for £20 delivered, which was nice :D

So, took my new items to the guy who lives opposite me (he has a spray shop on the back of his house), £100 for everything spraying and this is the car as it stands now...

What do you think, any better?

Comments/opinions good/bad welcome

Cheers

Damian

Really fantastic :)

I picked up a new grill on eBay too for a bargain price, so I apologise in advance for copying! :D

Looks very nice.
