Planning to order an Octavia vRS as soon as I sell my existing Honda Accord.

I have been offered standard spec. vRS hatch in Black Magic for

Hi Phil,

Welcome to Briskoda.

Sounds like a good price to me :) I've had my Octy coming up for 2 years, seats are still fine, though I agree all black would be better.

NB moved your post into a new thread - hope you don't mind

Welcome!

And with what you're saving, you could look at getting a dark carpet trim out of another octavia and replace yours with it. Although it takes some time and you have to have the guts to rip the interior of a new car out, someone has done it here but I can't remember who (Huck?) (sorry :o)

It's a thought, but the seats bother me more far more than the carpet. A set of decent fitted mats will protect the carpet, bur seat covers are definitely a no-no.

Welcome!

Another Phil as always good -especially when he's older than me ;)

My previous postings referred to my pending purchase of an Octavia vRS offered at less than

I see standard spec on the A4 at that age was Stereo Radio Cassette and NO CD player of any sort. So if you plan on playing CD's you'll also need to budget for a stereo upgrade. The seats look the same to me, just trimmed in a different fabric.

Many '02 A4 1.8T Sports have the CD fiitted. Seats are different - have tilt adjustment and front can be extended. Lumbar support is electric and adjustable up and down as well as in and out.

I wasn't really trying to put down the vRS (except the horrible seat trim colour). After all when new the A4 is more than

Hmm, Phil you got me thinking again. I am looking to replace my vRS over the course of the winter months and I am still not sure what to get. How big size wise is the A4 compared to the octy?

A4 is slightly longer and wider with a longer wheelbase (better ride?). More room in the back seats, but not a hatchback (Avant is a sort of estate). Some saloons have a split, folding rear seat.

1.8T (163) - 142mph and 0-62 in 8.6sec. Higher geared than vRS? A4 is 25mph/1000rpm in top.

205/55-16 tyres as standard and 235/45-17 optional (standard on early 2003 onwards cars).

Audi web-site (www.audi.co.uk) or forums for much more information and opinions. After all, this is a Skoda forum.

If the vRS didn't have the garish silver seats and trim panels I would have had one on order by now. Crazy way for Skoda to lose an order? I hope that they at least have an option of darker seats/trim in the new model.
