petrol model clutches

Featured Replies

Has anyone had a clutch replaced, on a petrol engined Octy 2 (especially a 2 litre) by one of the non manufacturer outfits, like Mr. Clutch?

If so, was there any noticeable difference compared to the original clutch?

As long as it's done with OEM or OEM like parts there shouldn't be any difference, the clutch pedal is hidraulic, you don't make any adjustments to it.

Just make sure you take yourself off shopping while they do it - You really don't want to watch them!!

I agree, clutches, timing chains and car alarms, absolutely no excuse to be there. Oh, and wife giving birth.

Listen, if you've done surgical extractions of wisdom teeth, NOTHING inside a motor scares you.

I'm not having my clutch changed though, as far as I know, I just wondered about the strange take-up from standstill, and if that is found on replacement clutches.

I just had a thought - if, as stated above, the clutch is hydraulic, does it ever need bleeding like brakes?

Not sure, but I think it bleeds itself with use.
