it's gone!

Featured Replies

For the time being only, my Octavia has gone to the bodyshop to "get jiggy"

Hopefully, when I get it back next week it'll be straight, and I can start getting it ready for paint.

Still need to sort out the passenger airbag (I removed it for now, and just replaced the dashboard with a second hand one) and the drivers airbag.

Will try to get some pics up, in case anyone wants a look...

What happened to it mate? Guessing a full frontal if the chassis was bent and the drivers airbag deployed...

Hope you get it sorted soon .

Ouch!

:eek::eek::eek:

Bit of elbow grease, that'll just polish out.....

On a different topic... the handbrake looks to be on very hard...

and back to the main topic... what actually happened?

few people have been in mine recently and they all seem to thing the handbrake needs to be almost pulled off to be on!!! just a few clicks and funnily enough the car wont move!!!!

looks nasty! guessing they've written it off if the bags have gone off? and your gonna rebuild it all?

Yup! I'm gonna rebuild it all. I bought it as a cat D write off.

List of parts bought so far to replace damaged/broken/missing bits

Bonnet

N/S wing

O/S wing

Slam panel

Bumper carrier

Bumper

O/S headlight

N/S headlight

Both indicators

Air con radiator

Intercooler

Dashboard

N/S airbag

seat belt pretensioners

Still need the following, for those of you still awake!

vRS steering wheel airbag

windscreen

Heads up from the garage today was that they will be able to save the N/S chassis leg, but not sure about the O/S one yet. If that needs replacing it's an engine & box out job (which is going to blow my budget for a respray!!)

More news tomorrow, hopefully good news!

well if you have a spare secondary air pump or throttle body that works please pm me!!!

Sore one.

But good on you for buying it back. :)

All straightened out now. Both legs pulled straight (thank goodness) which means the engine and box didn't needto come out.

Does that mean it won't fit properly now that I have the correct lights? (the crystal ones)?

If so... Bugger! (again) That'll be the bonnet, lights, and the grille I've bought wrong then.

Pretty sure the mk1 grille is wider (by quite a bit). There was a thread on here a few days back about it.

Yup. The grill is wrong too. No matter, I've been looking for an excuse to buy a milotec one!

Drove the car to the paintshop today - I have to say I'm very impressed - looks like I'll be keeping this one and ditching the Leon Cupra instead.

I wouldnt worry about the grill mate, £5 for the vRS badge from TPS,
