how to improve performance

Featured Replies

Do you belive everything a company tells you.

It may reduce the tempreture but you won't ever notice any difference imo.

Never said I did just offering my thoughts on the posters question.

Being constructive unlike some posts:P

There's no point in spending money on something like that as by the time that cold air goes through the system it will be heated back up up anyway..................I think:rofl::rofl:

I suppose it looks quite cool, but it's a few quids worht of looks quite cool :D

To be honest you may see 2-3 bhp which again won't be noticable. I suppose it may help the car breath better. Just get the map done and then think about other bits and pieces. The thing is all these little things like filters and dv kits help other things along but on their own don't do much if anything at all. All added up they may give you 8 bhp.

I ain't an authority on the subject but I have learn't a few things hanging around here for the last few years. So don't take my word as gospel because it ain't :)

Have a search in the octy section for air filters and you'll see all the research people have done over the years the results of which may surprise you.

A good panel filter will help it rev better as it did when i put my green panel in, dont think it really gave me any extra bhp though

how can relocating the DV lower lag?

the DV has sod all to do with lag.

If you put the DV closer to the throttle body surely the excess boost would escape sooner than if the DV was further back along the turbo pipework, closer to the turbo itself? And reduce the risk of the boost stalling the turbo before it escapes via the DV?

I wouldn't have thought it'd make a great deal of difference (if any) tbh but if it did, still wouldn't be reducing turbo lag

blow up a balloon and put some tape on it near the end you blow up and then sticka needle in it counting how long it takes to go down.

so this again with the tape/needle at the opposite end and time it.

air doesn't care where it leaks from it just leaks and does it very fast so no having the DV in different places won't affect either compressor stall or lag unless ofcourse you stick the DV in the exhaust :D

i still maintain that unless your going to go all the way with a big turbo or have money to burn then do nothing more than a remap :)
