LPG VRS Octavia??

Featured Replies

Considering having a long term keeper 85000ml 03 plate Mk1 Octavia VRS converted to lpg. Anyone with any experiance of this, either got one or had one done? Any good? Could it be manually switched between the two fuels for periods of play time? does it suit this engine? Is it still possible to add performance mods?

Thanks for any advice!

Getting mine booked in asap.

Concerning the switch, yep can easerly be switch over between the 2 systems (switch and gauge in/around dash)

LPG is better for performance mods, having less detonation due to an octane rating of around 113. Yes you can switch between it an petrol on any decent system. It suits turbo engines very well, better than petrol.

Wish I still had my mk1.

You cant LPG an FSI :(

You can LPG anything, including a diesel. How easy and how much work is a different matter, but to rip the FSI out completely and replace the fuel and spark with LPG/megasquirt is possible for extreme applications.

Far too much agro tho to make any cost savings on the FSI surely?

And that's assuming the fitter knows what must be done to the FSI to stop the engine getting FUBAR'd
