how much for m6 toll?

Featured Replies

as above, i know its gone up from the couple of quid i last paid quite a few years ago. But how much from the start to the end and/or vice versa?

cheers

A class 2 vehicle as your's is would be:

£4.50 between 0600-2300

£3.50 between 2300-0600

You are much better off using the Dartford River crossing, much better value for money :D

I couldnt believe it when I saw it last, when I used it last it was a quid.

jeez, just to travel on a private road with more speed traps than the wiltshire section of the M4.

cheers all!!

Speed traps? It's an Autobahn ;)

I always thought it would be more popular it was de-restricted too

I use it very rarely; it's just too expensive.

Used the dartford crossing couple of weeks ago... its was only £1!!!

Havn't used the M6 toll for a couple of years now and don't remember it being that much... was nice though was about 11pm and no body else on it... very smooth road! lol

every time I've used it, I've found almost no traffic, and no speed traps at all... if all "pay as you drive" roads were like this... I'd pay..... last time I was on there I was doing "some" speed (not my normal relaxed "indicated" 80 self) and most people were flying past me like I was the slow granny! lol....

any by the way, how is it that all white astra vans can travel at a constant 130mph?!

...it's the thought of the next cornish pasty pitstop!

Just watch out for brown/burgundy Volvo salons as there are a couple of them been used as unmarked police cars.

Indeed - i think they really missed a trick here. If you could storm down at 'some' speed with out risking being done, I'm sure it would be much more popular.

I have never seen a speed trap/camera etc but i did once see someone pulled by a marked T5.

A guy at work got pulled on the toll for doing 95 (ish!).

Also, if I remember rightly it costs vary depending where you get off. At least in the south bound direction. Towards the end of last year I used to get off at the A5, for Tamworth, at about 8.30am through a minor toll booth area for £3.50, but heading back to Stafford it means going through the main plaza at Cannockshire for £4.50.

Saved me some time when I was late or didn't have to go via my car sharers place.

A cynical friend of mine is convinced that they're lulling people into a false sense of security. So that when they close the M6 at some point to 'fix' it they'll police the toll to get everyone for speeding. Hopefully they won't do an M42 to either the M6 or toll eventually - that variable speed setup is so annoying!

traps at shespstone on the bridge, norton canes by a toll booth,

I like the way there's signs reducing the speed limit to 50 then 30 on the way upto the booths... but everyone still barrels in at 80 then slows at the last minute while dodging lanes looking for the shortest queue! :)

And the best bit is of course the race out of the blocks :)

Have you noticed when you get near the M6 toll the matrix boards ALWAYS say traffic ahead & toll road clear :rubchin:

Talk about trying to get people to use it

Being a south wales yokel I have never driven this road and don't know that much about it.

Who owns/maintains it???

Sounds like a private test track and a good laugh.

Does everyone hoof it up and down there then ???

It's normally quiet and you just can't help yourself

No wonder it's quiet at those prices.

Is the toll booth like the severn bridge toll booth starting grid

Is the toll booth like the severn bridge toll booth starting grid

Oh god ye - very much so. Always someone to race out the booths against!

Cheers although I'm sure if my fat lazy **** could be bothered I could have found that just as quick :o

So they don't operate scamera vans on there then :D Just unmarked cars ???

Thanks - have to keep an eye out for these.

I have bombed it down the toll road once in a Polo 1.2 and saw someone pulled over near the end of it.

I havent used it in my Skoda yet. Haven't used it for about 2 years.
