Seat is the Sporty one, Audi the posh one, VW the middle of the road brand and Skoda... the ugly one

You can only hope it look better in the flesh than these impressions.

The ones at the start of the thread show hints of toyota avensis imho, not a good thing

At the dealer today i was told the lights would sweep up at the outer wing edges, so either they have seen real pics, or that link is being spread around Skoda dealerships too!

I hope they are not the mirrors they are going to use, the ones at the moment are useless,especially with that semi pointed end instead of an oval one, you get a better view from the rear view one, I just wish they would use the same mirror glass for all 3 when you look in the door ones thing seam further away than they are

i would imagine those photoshops arent far off the real thing, skoda seems to be making all theyre cars as ugly as the new fabia. I thought the superb looked lush in official photos but after seeing one in the flesh tother day, its bloody 'orrible.

Surely it's more likely to be like the photos in the beginning of the thread which are actual spy photos??

Anyway, we should know shortly because the Paris motorshow starts at the end of the month.

The front of the Fabia looks awful and this looks more of the same, but bigger.

Seems very colour sensitive to me. Don't like the red one pictured particularly, but there's a greeny/blue SC variant on the back of the new Evo that looks very nice.

Either way, it's a better effort than the Fabia 2 IMO....

The only skodas that still get my interest when they shoot by are the Mk1 Octavia vRS's.

Interior was poor but the styling was great.

Can't get excited about any of the new stuff at all .(maybe the Octavia Scout but not much else in the Skoda camp).

What about the interior though? Do you think we'll get any real changes there or just the visual tweaks on the outside? Just browsing the new Superb brochure some things like hill-hold, bluetooth, stereos (not columbus) with SD slot etc.. Would love to see some of these on the new octavia, but I guess they wont so as not to overshadow the Superb in its first year?

Not that different then, will not make my Scout look outdated anyway.

The Scout and the vRS will not get the facelift anyway, at least not from the start.

Some info on a Czech forum says the facelift Octavia will have a new front bumper, lights and grille, new design alloys and a couple of new colours.

On the inside it should have new steering wheels, new climate control (probably like the Superb), new stereos and interior fabrics.

So quite a decent facelift if it's true.

My guess is that VW are getting the Golf6 and Skoda are getting a heavy facelift for the Octavia.

I wonder if Skoda could be persuaded to include sat nav with blue tooth as standard across the range, and not as an optional extra

yeah, definitely. The one I'm waiting for is the new 2.0 TFSI (350Nm, 42+ mpg!), although I guess that would only show up the new vRS, which we'll be waiting a long while for anyway...
