iPhone OS 2.0 Unlocked

Featured Replies

Finally sorted it, and now running the jailbroken V2. as said, not much good about it over the standard 2.0l although the ability to hide icons using the "poof" app is nice.

but otherwise wheres the fun!?

especially after a few cheeky pints :D

I have a hankering for a 3G piephone now after two years loyal ownership of N95. The only trouble is I am tied into a Vodafone contract for the next 14 months!

Are they being released on PAYG or not? And how dangerous in bricking terms is the crack for the 3G piephone?

if it's gonna be too much trouble, I'll just stick with the N95.

O2 have actually got some pretty good business contracts out for the 3g Iphone so I am due to finish with T-Mobile next month so may make the jump to O2.

They are coming out on PayG and can be jailbroken / unlocked, It just depends on what price they are going to push them out for.

Surely Apple must be missingout on revenue by only having one contract provider? but it looks like they do the same everywhere else, the bizarre thing is it's t-mobile that have the piephone here in Germany and all the guys I am working with at MS have got 3g piephones which must be pleasing Bill gates and Steve Balmer immensely :)

Voda signed a deal with apple to sell the piephone in 10 counties around the world, but sadly the UK wasn't one of them. I suppose a certain degree of exclusivity will keep the prices up and gloss over the flaws in the device.

I find your lack of faith in the Piephone Disturbing!

To be honest i still rate and prefer the N95 over the piephone... but its pretty close call, and the piephone aces for webbrowsing (hence why i have both lol)

I must admit, the only annoyance I have with my piephone v1 is that it's a great ipod / web browser / games thingummy but a mediocre phone.

It makes and takes call's, but it's still pretty primitive in the way it handles SMS compared to something like an N95. The other thing is it struggles to connect via bluetooth to the macbook, but hooks right up to Vista ..... I thought Mac's "just worked" lol.

All said and done, my pron collection looks great on the piephone screen :) and the camera, even though it is a bum basic bog standard 2mp non flashing jobbie is still capable of taking some very good pictures.

yeah, I think I'll just have to wait it out as Apple are pretty prolific in releasing The Next Big Thing. I'm sure the piephone will go from strength to strength and one day, it might even become better than the N95!!!:D

Philistine or is it palastine? (whatever, your the one not chucking rocks at defenceless israeli's, only armed with Merkava MBT's and AR15 / M4's)

The Piephone is already FAR superior to the N95 in everything

except for being a phone :o

 you keep telling yourself that and you'll be fine!

...and a camera

...and a 3.5G communication device

...and actually fitting in your jeans pocket...

Updated my iPhone to 2.0 this afternoon - no issues what so ever and so far so good :D

Dynolicious is pretty funky too!

Was just about to ask a similar the question about this update with Orange but I take it all is Ok Harry?

I'm on O2 PAYG.

Phone is absolutely fine. It restored all my music, calendars, and txt messages but it wiped my contacts. That was sorted by importing contacts from the sim card however.

Seems to run a bit better than before, but there isn't a lot of difference to be honest.

Steve if yours is on Orange it will need to be uploaded with a custom v2.0 firmware.

Main Page - WinPwn is the tool you will need if you do it from a windows machine, but I have been reading of some minor instabilities in the windows version, the MAC version of Pwnage works perfectly if you have access to a MAC.

If you let it update via Itunes, when the firmware update is complete it will lock it back to O2 etc.

It is isn't it :)

I was having fun with that on the way down the A49 to Cardiff late last night.

After calibrating, the power figures are not to far off the "after" dyno run and timings etc seem fairly accurate

I unlocked mine to 2.0 about a week ago and its awful! The OS is so slow and unresponsive. There is a pause of about 4 seconds after pressing a letter and the letter appearing when writing a sms message. Its constantly freezes up when opening apps and randomly restarts. In a way its a bit like leopard which was rather buggy when it came out :P

I've not had such trouble with mine so far. If anything it runs better.
