Off to look at Roomsters this weekend

Featured Replies

...and hoping some folks on here can let me know what their ownership experiences have been ?

(Which? Car mag rates them pretty highly - other websites I've seen are not very kind)

Cheers,

Si

Hope you like them. Are you changing your vRS or is the Roomster an addition?

Diesel or petrol?

Looking to chop the vRS estate in: I'll miss the Octy, but spiralling fuel, road tax & insurance costs mean she has to go. SWMBO will get whatever we replace it with.

Found a 1.6 "2" spec at nearby dealer - all depends if we like it, and whether they will take the vRS as part-ex.

You may find the 3 or Scout spec more to your taste.

Have a look in this section as there are a few write ups on ownership and modding.

But I may find the 2 more to my budget :)

Already noticed the ARB write-ups. Funnily enough, the Whiteline kit was next on my Octy list of things-to-do...

Cheers for the info !

Had a good nose around an Olive Green 1.6 Roomster2 today and liked the car in general, but not in that colour. SMWBO was also keen on the overall design, but wants to find one in Blue Storm now. The search continues...

Storm Blue is a real pain to keep clean,I wish I had gone for something lighter now:).Can't fault the 1.9 TDI for power though:thumbup:

Did your dealer tell you about the 'free upgrade' promotion at present; either pay for a Roomster 1 and get a Roomster 2 OR pay for a 2 and get a 3 or Scout? You ought to be able to get a bit of a deal on your part-ex as well.

Sorry to mention if your budget constraining you to pre-owned.

IMHO - the Olive Green is far more preferable to Blue Storm. However, Polar Blue is pretty good (if rare pre-owned).

PM sent-

Polar Blue is very rare indeed and I quite like it!

Thanks all for the input. Our budget (with part-ex added) is only enough for pre-owned.

Does anyone have a link to a full set of colour options on the Roomster ? I tried Skoda's own site, but they didn't even list Olive Green...

Cheers,

Si

The Roomster colours (post 1st July) are in the brochure (http://www.skoda.co.uk/pdf/brochure_roomster.pdf), there were some changes, a green, red and silver mod IIRC, try Skoda's online used car site for a good set of shots of the Roomster in each colour (Skoda Used Car Locator), thats how we browsed first ...

Don't know your budget, but Storm Blue Scout here ... Skoda Roomster 1.6 16v (105bhp) Scout 5-Dr MPV ... for example.

The exterior colour swatches are here ... http://idisk.mac.com/craig.morgan/Public/Pictures/Skitch/brochure_roomster-1.pdf_%28page_3_of_22%29-20080713-185923.jpg

I did see one in Silver today,I don't normally like Silver car but it looks classy on the Roomster.I'd have the Green if I could choose again

Roomsters seem to be getting very popular lately! Had quite a few enquirys probably even more interest in the Roomster than the Fabia Estate. People seem to be liking the obscurity of the car.

... Seems to imply that you are buying new? Did you do your upgrade? pay for a 1 and get a 2.

Well done anyway ; same colour as mine (or at least SWMBO's) due to collect next week. :)

Not new, but almost. An ex-Skoda demo car that my ever-so-helpful dealer managed to track down for me. So sadly, no spec upgrade...but I'm still looking forward to getting it next week :)

Well done; I'm sure you are chuffed to bits.

Off topic slightly; I know there is no Skoda dealer in Basingstoke and my son has just moved there with his Fabia; which dealer have you used?
