MotoGP - USA

Featured Replies

All things considered, a good days racing.

Watched MotoGP & WSBK qualifying this morning and then WSBK and BSB most of the day, finished off with MotoGP tonight.

Suppose I better speak to the Mrs now.

And so the MotoGP pendulum swings back the other way. 3 Weeks off now until we resume the banter and smugness.

Cheers Gents

Now you know you'll only spoil things.:rofl:

+ I am sure you will be posting in the mean time  Cos if not I will miss you.

But what a race  even you have to agree that The Doctor is still TRYING.;)

Foz, yep can't take anything away from Rossi.........but can't bring myself to call him by his nickname.

Great race though!! We need more of em to be like that.

Absolutely fantastic race, Stoner really had the edge power wise but Rossi just about won out in the dogfight.

Oh what a suprise, Stoner was whinging in the post race interview.:(

I spotted that on BBC, ain't it no wonder the Brits boo him. Must say he was acting like a child and should really grow up in these instances as he does himself no favours.

Poor old Lorenzo, that gotta hurt.

Oh go on, you know you want too.:rofl::rofl:

Must admit - what commentators said about Rossi's off-road (where he then nearly collided with Stoner) may have been responsible for Stoner's comments.

On the podium you could see Rossi mouth 'I sorry'.

If this is not the case - how would Stoner have felt sandwiched between Rossi and Gibernau in the 'good old days' ?

Both riders were obviously pushing savage hard, way over 100%, so of course there's gonna be the odd excursion.

Brilliant race - really enjoyable seeing a good ding-dong like that with both riders giving it their all. Irrespective of his comments, thought Stoner did well to avoid a big accident when Rossi decided to use the gravel on the inside of the corner:eek:

WTF Jon.......it's a bit of fun man, nothing more, nothing less.

That's why is was immediately followed up with "seriously though"

Wasn't having a go at you Lance...... just commenting on how the guys at Eurosport came up with that comparison.

As you chaps know, I'd jump on any chance to dig at Rossi, however that off road incident at the bottom of the corkscrew, was just one of them things that happen when they are giving their all...........and to be honest, although exciting, it was pretty minor in comparison to some racing incidents we see. If that's what Stoner was complaining about, then shame on him.

A bit of fairing bashing and determination is what it's all about......isn't it?

Just watched the interview with Stoner on BBC iPlayer & I really don't get Stoner!

He wouldn't shake Rossi's hand in Park Ferme & said he was nearly on the floor so many times it wasn't fricking funny.

To me, yesterday's race was one of the best MotoGP races in a long time. Fair enough, Rossi was trying very hard to stay in front & went into the corkscrew "hot", took to the gravel & went out wide. That's racing mate!

Take a look at the WSBK races, with Bayliss, Corser, Haga or Xaus. They all come very, very close to each other but do not complain or whinge if things don't go their way.

I'm with Stavros; the only time Stoner might reasonably believe he had cause for complaint was that one time through the Corkscrew, and if he'd seen where Vale was he'd have realised it wasn't deliberate, unlike, say, trying to ride past someone up the dusty side and running wide as a result, or out-braking yourself into Turn 2 3 times.

I feel kind of bad for Chris Vermeulen, cos his fairly epic run up to 3rd went almost un-noticed since Stoner and Vale were off 2 Zip codes up the road!
