Whats the cheapest you have ever serviced your Fabia VRS competition?

Recommended Posts

Ok as ive just serviced my car myself and then worked out how much it cost i thought id ask whos managed to service their car the cheapest. No cheating by saying it was done free by the dealer as that probably because you paid for it when you brought the car. Winner gets a pat on the back...

Labour free as i did it myself. Parts i get trade.

Oil and filter (Comma PD oil)

Air filter

Fuel filter

Pollen filter

Brake fluid change (ok i had some left over from a previous job)

£48.46

oil around £2 a litre. :) So £10

oil filter around £5 (will be cheaper from now on after I bulk bought on Ebay)

pollen filter - £8 off Ebay

Fuel filter - hmm, not sure, mine might need doing soon, but say £20 to be pessimistic

Labour is usually my mate's rates at his garage, so say £15 to £20 at worst for oil change and fuel filter change. I can clean my BMC myself, and change the pollen filter myself.

[tots it up] so around £60 on average.

Think mine was somewhere in between £40 - £45. Dads mate has his own garage and that was a service according to VAG and book stamped too!

This thread just reminded me that i'm due another service.

I did a 40,000 mile service which is a fairly big one for cheap. I used to work for Skod so still get proper discount on everything I got:

Pollen Filter

Fuel Filter

Oil Filter

Genuine PD Oil (Fresh out the Quantum drum)

Didn't need airfilter due to green cotton

For £30 cash and I fitted it myself to the Skoda standard. Sweet!
