Ford Fiesta ST

Featured Replies

Been a while since the Fabia VRS went ...... :(

For the money, the ST does the job. It handles fantastic, looks nicer than the new Fabia, and has a lovely Sony stereo :P

Oh, forgot to add, it does less than 25mpg if you have some fun ...:D

Stunning car mate, in my opinion the best colour you can get them in, is that the bigger horse power version you have or the standard 150?

I have to agree I like them. Especially in white, but not too sure on the go faster stripes

Yes, I agree as well.

I blame the Missus. She loved the showroom model which had the stripe option. They'll probably go sometime in the near future. I'll make something up :D

Can you not do a photoshop and remove them?

If you want rid just peel a little bit off the front and say "oh those stone chips, darn, they've ruined the stripes" And then remove them hehe.

If you leave them on for a considerable time then I'd say to leave them on as the paint under the stripes will be much more preserved

I think the stripes work well on the white paint IMHO, I'm a ford fan and have always been into my fiesta's escorts and focus' as grew up with them and my dad had a new one every couple of years.

I did contemplate buying a fiesta a couple of years ago but got a focus instead before buying the Fabia.

The spec is at the bottom of the post. It's about 170 bhp according to other guys who have used similar mods. Mine has not yet been tested.

The total cost of the car inclusive of the mods was £12,800 ;)

It was a bit of a chore to be honest getting used to a high revving N/A petrol after the Deisel VRS. Feels like your racing everybody ALL the time because of the noise. This is not a motorway car. At 70mph it is 3.5k revs.

It really does handle well. Way better than my driving skills anyway

Do I miss the Fabia ? You bet I do, AT THE PUMPS :D

 Nice one.

Love the colour... :D

Looks stunning in white would look even better with just the side stripes imho. Whats next on the shopping list?

Cosworth cams and uprated valve springs. :)

My mate has one of these, in white - no stripes at all. Looks ace. Cossie cams are on his shopping list too. He has just a k+n on it at the moment and that improved it quite drastically :)

Just my opinion, but don't be tempted to do the axle spacers at the rear - they worsen the handling :)

I think those stone chip are gonna be coming soon mrs jonny boy

Hi Shifty, it's been a while. ;)

Thanks for the heads up on the axle spacers. Some of the ST forums have endorsed them quite a lot. Maybe some more research then ...

the chassis on the ST is its best asset.. not mess with it... they are wonderful out of the box.

Sorry for that haha

Nice car looks alot better with Eibachs:thumbup:

My mates got a blue one, surprised me when he first got it much quicker than i thought it would be. He's thinking of getting one of those Graham Goode filters as the standard air box is suppose to sap quite abit of power! How do you rate GG filter over standard air box?

Paul.

Dont take those stripes off Jon!!! LOL

Car looks great..We must arrange a meet in the lakes soon...

Hi Paul,

To be honest, the GGR CAIS is both very functional and a 'peice of jewellery for the engine' ;) It's expensive as well, £360.

Fiesta ST

GGR (whom we know are very reputable) state 15 bhp gain.

It is WAY better than the standard box. Ford deliberately restricted this car to 150bhp as it encroached on the Focus. Indeed, the standard cars lap times are near identical to the Focus ST.

The filter, Flexi pipe from the manifold (itself restricted) the exhaust (especially the back box) does the cars breathing no favours.

Ford did however keep the insurance to group 13 with the power and in turn, allow the cars main customer base (younger people, not me :o) the oppertunity to own one.
