Wing mirror adjustment problem

Featured Replies

Hi All,

When the adjustment knob is on the left mirror, only the left mirror moves - as expected.

When the adjustment knob is on the right mirror, both mirrors move! - not expected.

This is a new fault that has just appeared, any ideas?

Cheers,

Paul.

Check your manual. This is the correct mode of operation for my car.

This is correct. The correct procedure is to set the o/s mirror before before the n/s mirror. This is because the n/s mirror has two memory settings; one for forward gears and another for reverse, allowing the n/s mirror to be lowered to better show the n/s kerb when reversing.

This positions can be memorised with the seat positions, and these settings can in turn be linked to a key fob, so remotely unlocking the car with a given key fob will automatically reset the seat and mirror positions to the values associated with the user of that key fob. In this way up to three different drivers can each have their seat and memory settings automatically reset for them when they enter the car.

Which would be correct if he owned an Elegance with electric / memory seats, but he has a Comfort. So the above procedure can be ignored.

Roto is correct, this is not a fault, but a feature of the car, as said all covered by the owners manual.

Hmm...

I've never noticed this before. Is it only on certain years/trim levels?

*fumbles for his manual*

ive noticed this on my comfort model superb...with the left hand mirror n/s being further away from drivers view. i adjust mine everytime as my wife for some reason decides she wants to look at the tarmac rather than the side of the car and traffic behind her!!..come to think of it......everything is pointing downwards even the rear view mirror!! no wonder she complains it isnt dimming at night!! still, it only takes me a few mins to sort out

Bringing this thread back to life.

Skoda superb comfort 2018/19.

My knob turns 360.

When the dial is at the heated mirrors position, I can move the passenger mirror but only sideways.

Not that I want to throw the blame on my just-turned-3-toddler, but could he have forced the knob/dial and now I'm stuck with not having side mirrors?

(grabbing phone to schedule a skoda service and checking bank account)
