Redline group thrash @ Bruntingthorpe

Featured Replies

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I spent the day at Bruntingthorpe on Thursday with my mates Audi TT. He had been invited by Redline Magazine to a group thrash for performance VWs.

They put on some Datatron logging devices in the cars to record 1/4s 0-60, 0-100 and top speeds.

Unfortunately no Skodas but maybe some of you could change that for next time :D

We had 'Fly' the photographer (from Max power early days) there along with the journos from the mag taking down the details.

Toward the end there was a group from a bike magazine chaps testing the new 08 ZX10/R1/Blade/GSXR. They were doing wheelies for the camera

Anyway had to take my video camera with me :)

top video:thumbup:

bet no one got near that mk1 rear engined golf, seen that running 10 second ss 1/4 before

Looked like a fun day :)

Did you get any of the times car run?

Quality vid mate and some great cars

Nice!!

Shame no Skoda badges, maybe next year.

It was fun, especially watching the LGV going round and getting closer and closer to the cars! It must have been doing some MPG test because it was constantly going round all day.

As for times the top speed on the day was MRC's S4 with 181mph, the white golf managed 174.6mph but tbh there was no set marker boards for the drivers to guage braking so a few were coming off and maybe playing it safe.

The Corrado was awesome. 600bhp 0-60 3.11 0-100 6.5, 11.01 1/4 and 180 top. And Mark's a top fella too!

White golf 0-60 3.42, 0-100 6.73, 11.28 1/4

My mates TT 0-60 4.4, 0-100 10.88, 12.97 1/4 164mph.....best times of the day were in the wet:eek: After we thought he had broke his engine (and then discovered he'd ran out of fuel :o:rolleyes::D) the manifold gasket blew so he didn't want to chance any more damage. Shame really as there was plenty of time to do as many as you wanted in the end.

The Fastcar journos were a top bunch too and made the day smooth running.

So look out for the write up in an upcoming issue:)
