Hi folks, joined Briskoda tonight, but have read a few helpful threads in the last fortnight. I am usually a VW man, but have always entertained the idea of driving its siblings having had a SEAT and several Audi's - but this weekend I am now the owner of a '98 Felicia 1.9D GLi - allegedly with just 10,700 miles on the clock. I bought from a distance under the impression that it was in "as new" condition having barely been driven for the last 4 years.

Whilst it is conceivable that the engine has only done 10K judging by the lack of wear on seats, pedals, steering wheel, door handles, gear lever etc, the bodywork has had a rough old time and I'm a bit disheartened to be honest - both bumpers are badly scored and there are chips, scratches and dents affecting nearly every panel. BUT, apart from a couple of small rust scabs in peculiar places the arches are blemish free and so I'm determined to get her ship-shape, especially as I'm getting 60mpg from her.

I will be asking a few questions over the next few days so your help will be every much appreciated as there are a number of problems that need fixing. I get the impression that some are quite familiar to the Felicia - leaking sunroof, central locking problem etc.

Cheers!
