Octavia Facelift

Featured Replies

Judging by below picture (which was released as a press photo at launch of 4X4), I think it is perhaps an attempt at photo shop rather than a spy pic.

G|ood point, seeing that one too does make it clear that the image is edited, though I still reckon pretty well! Anyway let's see what George has to say - hopefully he will reply - as Czech he may have some more info?

Just want to know when to order, as mine will then have to go for special fitments I have around a 4 month lead until I get it and can't wait much longer.

Well spotted - I was going to say thats not a face-lift but just a headlight-lift.

I think the face-lift will look as close to the new superb to continue the trend throughout the new range.

Exterior:

headlights, tailights & maybe new door lines, also front & rear bumper change.

Interior:

Mild changes to upholstery, maybe they will increase the height of the console between Drivers/passenger seats giving it the possibility of adding the option of control switches i.e. sport/soft settings for models higher in the Octi range or a navigation control button/mouse function for music/maxidot/sat nav, they may even get rid of the handbrake to save space & add the dreaded electronic handbrake like that in the Passat  - this seems to be the norm for most family cars these days.

Guys, I can tell You, that RS Octavia (vRS, as You say in UK) is made on the same assembly line as other Octavias. I saw with my eyes when I visited the factory at Mlada Boleslav, CZ in August, 2007. A completed car leaves the line in every 2nd minute! It's easy to tell RS from others, because only RS has Race Blue painting!

Although we were standing at the beginning of the assembly line, to where the naked and empty bodies arrive from the chassis workshop, I could just see a Race Blue body and I knew immediately, it will be RS few hours later.

We could also see the end of the line, where the cars roll off, so the 2 minutes is reality, I also could see with my own eyes.

Ah, 2007 was a really horrible and happy year for me, 'cause I could visit to UK to where I'd like to go back so terrible and I visited the Factory Museum in Mlada Boleslav and I could arrange a visit to the Factory itself. It consisted a visit to the engine and transmission shop and the assembly line of Octavia II so I could see, where my own Octavia was born!

(Few months ago Octavia II manufacturing took start in Bratislava, Slovakia. More, than 5000 cars were manufactured there since then. Here, in Hungary I met some of them. The 11th character of the VIN is "C" on cars manufactured in Slovakia and "2" for the ones made at Mlada Boleslav, CZ)

If this character is "8", then the car is a 4x4 or Scout and was manufactured in Vrchlabí, CZ. Only 4x4 Octavias made at this different location, not the RS.

If You guys are interested in my story of the factory visit, I can publish it at briskoda.

Are You?

Yes - tell us more tell us more.........................

 Any sign of the new 2ltr common rail diesel engine for the Octavia Scout yet ? any inside info ? cheers - Stuart.

Perhaps no news but Skoda Sweden wrote yesterday that we can order Octavia RS TDI DSG with paddles from november 2008
