Soon to be owner of an Octavia VRS :D

Must admit, like many other newbies i guess, that i hadn't imagined my search for a new car would take me to Skoda. I looked at Vauxhalls (Astra first) which i decided looked too cheap on the inside. Then i looked at the Vectra (with £5,000 off brand new at £11,000) but that didnt exactly light my fire. Looked at Peugeot but the driving position wasnt ideal. Looked at Ford but they seemed more expensive than i though they would be and i cant shake my impressions that Fords are underpowered compared to their engine sizes, and poor handling. Looked at VW but the Golf looked cheap inside and i just dont like it, and had pretty much decided on the new shape Jetta but felt i wasnt getting all that much for my money.

Eventually notices an Octavia VRS by chance in race blue with 10k on the clock for £12k and here we are. Havent got the car yet but looking to pick up soon and thoroughly looking forward to it

Hello :)

Hiya.

More to the point, the Vectra's not as comfortable or well-handling as the Octy (based om making same town, open road and m/way mixed journey in both).

Overall the vaectra had little going for it. Only thing was, that is was cheap and looked reasonably from the front and back. Because of the price i kept coming back to it but am glad i resisted. The fact that it would have been new was appealing as i havent had a second hand car for around ten years (three new ones in that time) and like the comfort of knowing the car has been looked after to the excessive standard i tend to.
