How to spot a Hybrid!

Featured Replies

Looking at this car on Sat that was renowned for being a Fast Furby, Hybrid turbo etc.

But im a bit dubious if its still running a Hybrid. I know it has a Pro Alloy IC obviously but is there anyway to tell from the engine bay if its a Hybrid Turbo??

Obviously i will have my car to compare... is there any noticeable differences from the top?

If so anyone got a comparison pic between a Hybrid and a stock 130 turbo on the car

the short answer is you can't,you need to get under the car and look up the back of the engine, what year is the car? as i believe the really early ones (some 53 plate)had the garret on,if newer it will be kkk if standard,or re mapped

Think I remember this car being on Ebay - and it was really ch@vved up big style!

Likely to be a turbodynamics turbo then.

Yes that would be the one.

ATM it has the OEM wheels on it and standard interiour, grille back to normal and headlights.

All that needs done it some Decal removal and a new front bumper then were ready to rock and roll :thumbup:

Its not the "Big dog" one is it :D

From what ive seen of it recently i think all it needs is a new bumper or maybe a refit with some tasteful black mesh then were sorted :D

From what iv herd and seen this is shagged.....how many kerbs has it been over ?

Iv herd he blew the hybrid turbo and is running a standard one.....with a harsh map on aswell......goodluck if you buy it !

My lord that looks a pile of ****e in those pics

I dont think I could buy a car off someone who would do that to a car - they cant be too clever up top IMO

there are no words to describe my reaction to that pic!

sorry i cant help with the original question

Ive seen this diesel dog car before on the A66. Was having its nuts frapped off!

Dont think the owner was too clever, he couldnt work out why his very smokey red fabia was gettting wasted by another even more smokey black fabia

Sorry, I have to ask - why not just keep your car, and modify the parts you deem necessary. You have a car you know, which you can then tweak as you see fit??

Doesn't make any sense to buy something random - which could turn out to be a right heap....

Steve

If its got a hybrid you will know, If you cant tell you shouldnt be buying a car with that much power, youll end up in a box.

I dont understand why you arnt just buying a fmic and hybrid for yours if you want one so badly? It just doesnt make sense

For a guy that was worried that his car was starting to look chavy it seems very out of character that you would want the diesel dog, its a very chavy car indeed.

I will stick it back to standard, as said all it needs is a new front bumper now and some de-stickering.

I will do my homework first and if its got the mods on it then thats fine.

Its an 05 with 50k on a strong engine. Hell i boot mines about. If it all adds up then fine. I'll have a Hybrid Fabia to compare it with anyways.

Way i see it its gona cost me say £1700 in parts for just a Hybrid and a Turbo

Then i still dont have the coilovers....

Whereas i can get this car for cheaper than that with the mods and remap all ready done

Worth a look i'd say and it hasnt been smashed

Jase, FFS nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
