Still Skoda Estelle brakes

Featured Replies

I hav the rear wheel cylinders removed, cleaned them up, just to then replace them...while I was at it, I changed the brake-shoes too...put the whole thing together, and took it for a spin in the back-yard...no brake power.

The pedal goes just about trough the floor before there's a tiny brake-effect!

I have a car, which has a brake-booster (servo)is the problem in the master cylinder or in the servo, or may it be in the lines, or should I check the wheel brake systems again? *getting desperate*

I would check that the vacuum pipes to the brake servo have not perished and are connected correctly

Have you tried bleeding the brakes again to rule out the possibility that there is still some air in the system? If the brake servo is not working I would expect the brake pedal to be hard to push, but it shouldn't be possible to push it to the floor.

try bleeding brakes from master cylinder (undo both banjo bolts and let fluid drip out (free-off any bubbles) then try bleeding brakes again in the normal way skoda estelle's and rapids have a bad problem of master cyl failure ie pistons in master cylinder do not move alot when brake pedal is ok but when doing work to brakes/bleeding the piston travel the whole distance in master cylinder causing damage to pistons/seals hope this helps

also r u sure the self adjusters on rear brakes are working/ fitted correctly ?

If you have 4 pot calipers on the front are you bleeding all 3 bleed nipples on each caliper? Suggest you also bleed the brakes with handbrake off.
