big mouth grill. what you think

Massive improvement! Smooth the rubbing strips too, and then re-locate the plate.

 • Hahahaha! You know it's bad if even Stevie Wonder doesn't like it! :P "I just called to say your car's sh;te..."

 • This thread is SO old the car in this picture probably (hopefully....) has been sold and had a replacement bumper fitted already.

 • You've made an appauling job of that - I'm sorry. If you like it then fair play

I have never , never , ever seen anything that looks that bog awful in my life .........:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Perhaps you should get some glasses ............

for a first attempt some of the more harsh, un-thought of replies do hit rather hard

as im sure you didnt mean to offend me eyes, i didnt mean to offend you.

if your happy with it, does anyone elses opinions matter?

good look, happy modding.

Come on guy's this is an obvious p!ss take ......

well all in all i feel as a first attempt ( that isnt finished ) may have mixed opinions.

Making mistakes and correcting them is all in the modding scene, Now how many of you guys have made mistakes in the past, no body is an expert unless they try in the first place......................

Thank u all for your opinions, once it is completed maybe more pics will be posted..:)

i agree but come on, you must know yourself it looks ****?

somethings should be left to professionals to do for a reason.

or at least if doing it yourself you should at least finish it off as it looks rougher than 80grit sandpaper.

Maybe, but trying out a few things on your own is trial and error, learn from mistakes and so forth... as i mention in an earlier reply, i was needed at work so had to throw it back on and shoot off

well i hope you do learn from your mistakes, there are plenty of small things you can do to change the cars looks in a tasteful manor. unless you have need for a lot of air going into the front then the open-mouth look is not for your car, works on the vRS bumper a lot better, you should maybe try source one of them.

how much would a vrs one cost me, and how easy to fit

i'd imagine fitting would be a straight swap, and i have no idea on cost, check ebay, scrappies or maybe just call up skoda and see how much a new one is.

its been done a few times on here so i'm sure someone else will be more helpful on that subject.

KTP your avvy is freeeeeaky!!!

back on topic:) just keep your eyes open for rs bumpers... people know there worth somthing now so gotta be quick:)

Good luck what ever you do mate. but even a subtle LCR splitter on a facelifted bumber would look the dogs nuts:)

I see you are local (ish) drop me a line if you need a few pointers :)

Andy (the OP one), I agree that some of these comments are well harsh and just plain negative. I trust you don't mind "I think it would look better with a different grille colour" type comments though. Those are at least helpful rather than flames!

LYK, your pic with the mesh grilles is exactly the sort of thing I was talking about.

Those are at least helpful rather than flames!

.

Very true, however stand long enough with your legs apart someone will kick you in the nuts.

Personally if I had done that to my front bumper the last thing I would do is post a pic up of it.

I think I'd stick with the air filter development if I were you. (I have some old socks you could use).

Which says a lot about how bad this is.

I would be interested to see pictures of it once fully completed.

  Why oh why did you do that?? Where you high on crack?? I am sorry but WHY???? That's hilariously bad

Not bad with a big mouth grill, but this one is not so good.. Sorry!

My VRS bumper with big mouth grill before my new ones :)

Here is a pic of my newly completed front grill, what does every one think of it, cheers

I have been leaving this thread for a while now - Thinking it's a pi$$ take. I have now changed my mind and am going to give you my thoughts and suggestions.

This is a simple case with a - "Take it" or "Leave it" advice.

1. Please oh Please buy a vRS bumper. I tell you what - I have even found you a link to one already... Same colour and ready to go onto the car

Linky - SKODA FABIA VRS FRONT BUMPER on eBay, also, Skoda, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 16-Aug-08 14:42:13 BST)

2. Fairplay with the bonnet and the grill. I like it. The mesh - Sure please do feel free to mesh it - However.. Why not spray it black?

3. Bumpers mods wise - I would really suggest taking a look at Jason or RSI's cars before you try and attack your bumper with a hammer and a knife.

I have found - The best way to see what your car would look like with a vRS modded bumper is to ask a member on here to photoshop it for you. (Please Note - I'm more than willing to do it for you).

4. If you actually are uncertain about a job - Why not take it to a member on here that has done it and is willing to help you. I have had loads off help from other members on here before! All I gave in return was beer tokens for advice .

5. If you didn't read/ take in anything from the above points. Please do feel free to use the petrol and matches.

Many thanks,

Rob

Nicely Said Rob :D

I agree with the rest, its not looking to sharp at the moment but would look good on a vRS bumper. I saw one going on ebay for £140 a while back. Bet you could get one at a scrap yard alot cheaper.

I think its good to try new things with your car but is always good to pay someone who knows what there doing.

Good luck look forward to seeing the finished bumber.

;)

horrible, you've ruined that car

heres what it should have looked like  And even that is not to my taste and it was my car

FPMSL:rofl:

I have some nice cardboard and a new pack of plastecene. I am sure you could knock up a lovely rear wing, some side fin's and mould a bonnet bulge too. The car would then be totally crap, instead of only crap at the front (but then it is only a fabia..)

If it was mine, I would drive it into a loaded skip. The front end would then be totally acceptable compared to now.

It could be though I have stumbled on the new "barryskoda" web site complete with obligatory fabia "supercar" stuff..
