• Hahahaha! You know it's bad if even Stevie Wonder doesn't like it! :P "I just called to say your car's sh;te..."

 • This thread is SO old the car in this picture probably (hopefully....) has been sold and had a replacement bumper fitted already.

 • You've made an appauling job of that - I'm sorry. If you like it then fair play

Ok here is the VRs bumper, repair work primed, no inserts for fogs and slightly off being flush.

Andy where did you get this from? eBay? Did it say that the car had been involved in a RTA (Road Traffic Accident) at all?

Andy - From the damage to your new bumper I would suggest that it was involved in a slight tap or crash. This could explain why it wouldn't fit.

I think you have done a great job there andy with the repair and I'm sure that you will be able to source the parts your missing on eBay or from a local dealership.

Well done - Keep it up

where did you get those chrome mirror covers?

You might want to try to look for someone who sells Milotec Skoda accessories. Mine came from their line of products.

Milotec Auto-Extras GmbH - Skoda Tuning und Zubehör - Diverses Aussendesign

If they ever were made for RHD's, they're not easy to find anymore.

Last time I looked they only sold carbon-design's, and silver one's.

So if you're lucky, some dealer in the U.K. might have a pair of chrome RHD mirror caps left in stock.

Speechless! Blue Peter badge is already in the post!

Thank You! 30 'till 20 years ago I really used to enjoy that show.

Apparently, since I thought it was a Belgian plate too, and my first reaction was that that Furbie is trying to look like one of those Chinese Chaika knock-offs!! ;)

Or a vintage MG, some Lancia's, even something that was put on a shelve overnight next to some Single Frame Grill Audi. Or if you don't mind, compare it to the premium grill of a Rover 95.

Even after a four of years living in my current neighbourhood my neighbours still ask me what make of car I'm driving.

Silver ? Naah... All chrome.

And if you think the front is overdone, have a look at the sides:

F16-1.jpg

Some of my means of transport. The one without wings I own, the other my employer.

And here's one at night from a bit closer:

Now, any more posts on my car, and I might have to consider opening a thread for it of it's own. By no means I want to hijack andy_fabia's.

i wish it was.....

Andy, just remember to keep it subtle :)

Andy, it'll look good when you're done with it! (Heck it's already looking better than before :p ) Subtle and (slightly) understated is the way forwards IMO!

Actually, that's my second car.

Correction, that looks like my second car. Mine's got a chrome grill.

Oh my dear lord :(

oh dear god,put it out of its misery, you are not a bit of a kid either, you are also belgian so should be born with taste, and by your day job your not short of a few euro's so an act such as this truly is unforgivable.

Baby Jesus is crying now..........

I'm not going to knock anyone's car on here but all I'm going to say is this and leave it for you guys to decide...

If I do a modification to my car, whether it be performance or styling, I always think what others would think of my car or what impression I would give if I turned up to a wedding, funeral, date or an interview in it.

At least this way whatever modifications are done are kept reasonably conservative. Some cars I've seen I often wonder what impression they give when they pull up to a formal occasion.

Thats my 2p worth anyway!

My Fabia is received very well, actually.

Especially at work.

As for such formal occasions as weddings, I was asked on several occasions to drive the happy couple getting married.

As for such formal occasions as funerals, I take the dodge !

Il take the first part as a compliment :)

Some real wheels the gt front bumper and suspension

And you had a real nice fabia then.

And maybe for the same price than al the bitts now

All i need to do now is to find out how much for the foglight inserts will cost?

New foglight surrounds (all 4 bits) will set you back £20.54.

I just can't seem to remember my name beeing "Johnny", and my wife surely doesn't repond to well beeing called "Marina".

Thanks, but no thanks. Steel rims are the way to go if you tend to travel the roads I do. You do have a point about the suspension though. I had the car raised by 3cm (1 1/4 "), not lowered as I thik you are suggesting.

i really dont want to be rude but ive just been sick on my keyboard, i cant stop laughing! is he trying to make his fabia look like a rolls royce? i cant believe this has'nt been done before. oh i know why cus he bought all the chrome.

From what ive seen this happens quite a lot over in Europe, mainly eastern Europe, people with lesser cars such as Skoda's trying to make them look like BMW's and mercedes etc. Im sure there was an Octy i seen with BMW headlights and grille or something.. Mucho Coolness
