I have to be honest and say I'm not keen on it mate. I think it's just too much silver mesh on a black Fabia, as someone said maybe black mesh would have suited it better. Failing that, have you thought of mounting the reg plate in the centre of the mesh? Might break it up a bit?

thats completely against the point of the open mouthed look.

it was done to provide more air to the FMIC (which i know he doesnt have).

either way, going for an open mouth look and putting a plate on the mesh is a waste of time and will look worse into the bargain.

Of course, back in the says of the old white lettering on black, some people mounted the letters on a black grille but no plate. The most famous example was probably KAR 120C.

Well I've certainly done a few **** ups in my earlier modding days and will follow craig0031 in giving a thumbs up for having the balls to try something different! It's all too easy for people to follow the herd when it comes to modding and then shoot someone down when they try something else. Fair play to you, you gave it a go, accepted it didn't turn out as you would have liked and have taken a fair bit of abuse in the process.

Kudos for giving it a try, and for spending out money on the vRS bumper when the first attempt got hit so negatively. I still think that, unless it's something iconic like a Bentley or Daimler radiator shell, the best colours for grille mesh or bars are black or body colour.
