1985 Skoda Rapid

Featured Replies

Hello

I found this site on Google and am contacting the members looking for some suggestions for my father, 82 years old and a fan of Skodas. I hope I am not breaking any rules by asking for some advice. My father has a Skoda 130 Rapid Coupe, B reg 1985 and it is immaculate, a testament to Skoda because it is in showroom condition. Due to its condition and low mileage of under 32 0000 miles and the reluctance of him to renew his licence I am trying to find a way of generating interest in the car as he does want to sell it. He does not want to sell it to someone who will not appreciate it and I am after suggestions on the best way to generate interest in it to a proper Skoda enthusiast.

Perhaps there are lots of Skoda Rapides out there and I am wrong about it being a bit remarkable. If anyone knows of any others of that age please would you let me know. He has also kept all the paperwork including all the tax discs ever issued, so I do think it is quite exceptional, but I might be wrong.

Thank you in anticipation.

But it does sound very nice!

And welcome :D

Welcome :)

:)Sounds like a beautiful car, and in that condition a very rare one! Rapids, and rear engined Skodas in general have become pretty scarce nowadays. I'm crazy about these special cars [and some say in general!:D] and would love to buy this one, but I already have eleven and really must stop!

Briskoda is a great site for Skoda enthusiasts, but it might be worth putting a post on http://www.skoda-forum.com/ too.

There is an Owners' Club too....see my signature.

Joining Briskoda Freedom is also a very good idea, worth every penny of just 23 pence a week!

It certainly sounds like a great, well loved car. It's obviously one of the first 130 Rapids being a B reg, as they weren't launched until May 1985 with the 130 engine.

Echoing daverapids suggestions as to places to sell it, theres's here, the international skoda forum, skodarapid.com and ebay.A 10 day listing on ebay, properly worded would generate plenty of interest and probably get you the highest price - I'd suggest a reserve of at least 4 figures.

Please join freedom and post piccies!!!!

Hello and welcome.

There are a few older Skoda enthusiasts on here.

Might be worth dropping a PM (Private Message) to http://briskoda.net/members/daverapid/ or http://briskoda.net/members/skorob2007/

There's currently a Rapid 130 for sale at ax. £80,000 - ?koda 130 . tuning AK47 rapid, 1978r. - otoMoto. The site is in Czech but you can view the pictures - although I suspect your father wouldn't approve anyway!

Hello,

Thank you. I will drop a PM as you suggested. I did view the pictures and yes, you are so right my father would not approve.
