Shifty's Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Here is my car - sure you are sick of seeing it now, but I may as well put it in this section for all to see :)

Bought new in 2005, it has seen a couple of new engines, a few turbo's, many wheel/tyre combo's and a few choice mods along with about 4 maps.

Totally stripped of anything I don't need in it, I reckon it is 100 - 150 kg's lighter than standard.

A 2005 model Diamond Silver Metallic Skoda Fabia vRS.

The engine is now a Golf ARL 1900cc Turbodiesel.

In standard form it had 130bhp and did 0-60 in 9 seconds with a Vmax of 130 Mph.

Mine now produces 251.5 Bhp and 400 lbs/ft of torque.

Performance has been officially timed at 0-60 mph in 5.85 seconds, and a 14.3 second 1/4 mile run. Top speed is estimated at 150 mph +.

Performance Modifications:-

Www.oscarli.com Custom Remap (Richard Washbrook)

Blueflame 3" s/s exhaust - turbo back - decat.

Green Cotton filter panel + Forge Prototype Air intake.

Allard's "Race" Camshaft

Allard's Egr bypass - "Race Pipe"

Uprated Injector Nozzles (92mg)

Garret/Turbo Dynamics Stage 2 Hybrid Turbo

Forge Custom made one off Front Mounted Intercooler

Sach Sintered Paddle Clutch

Braking and handling:-

Eibach sport springs all round - lowered by 25mm.

Eibach Shocks

Jabba sport Rear Anti Roll Bar.

Tarox G88 Front Discs and Tarox Strada Pads (Dot 5 fluid)

Seat Cupra Lower solid front bushes.

Poly bushed front wishbones.

Wheels:-

17" OZ Superturismo's with Toyo T1-R's all round.

Styling:-

Seat Leon Cupra Front Splitter

Nurburgring Map

New style VRS badges

Fully Stripped interior, with Sparco Seats and harnesses.

WRC Lamp Pod (Occasional use only)

What a map!

Bet its fecking brutal to drive, love it!!

bit slow off the start Dave and to 60 foot , tramps along very well after that

Impressive power band Dave. Richard worked his magic I see. Does the uprated injectors run better now with the map?

Must say - I'm sorry I didn't make an offer on this now when it was up for sale before. :(

Great Car - Well done :D

The 60ft time is my 0 to 60 mate ;). You could go in one lane for 0 to 60 or the other for the 60 ft. I wouldnt call it a slow start. Could do better though. Im positive the car can get into the 13's. Thanks for all the comments guys :-) . Oh faboka, the map is amazing. No faults and brill mpg as well as insane power. The man is a legend.

Nice figures there, Dave! Sounds like it should be faster than the mongrel around Silverstone, as mine will not be running 100% at all. I'm going to be running with methanol all being well, and I might give the NOS a bit of a kicking too, so it could all be very experimental indeed. Should be funny to have two smoking fabias going around nose to tail.

Video!

Very nice. :)

So silver really is the fastest colour then ! :D

i'd want the torque curve to look like the powre curve myself :D

also looking a tad smokey there too Dave!

Nice one mate. You've put a lotta effort into getting it sorted.

Just waiting to see what happens at TRAX

Bas

Nice performance.

Ive got to find a second on my quarter to keep up with that, ha.

Serious power.

Loving the reek also!

You want to see what with the map and why?

The torque "mound" at the beginning is to get the car moving.... You would have to drive it to understand really, and not be so petrol biased ;)

More smoke = more poke. Id agree maybe its overfuelling a tad, but that will be to my advantage soon ;)

That is a quite wonderfully offensive Skoda - love it! :)

Do you have any photographs with the lamp-pod attached?

i'd like to see the torque curve peak as high as it does but have the shape of the power curve so you made crazy power at 5000rpm :)

with those figures it'd be about 370bhp :D

A ride in this car convinced me to keep mine at a time when the se's future really wasn't that sure, awesome performance, and for all those looking and thinking 5.85 secs to 60 is not that fast, remember that a sprint is the cars WEAKEST discapline, the in gear shove of this vehicle has to be expierienced to be believed:D
