2.2 lotus twin cam, delorto twin 45s, twin(uprated)cams, 178bhp, rwd, 950kgs, and about the size of a mk1 fiesta, except with 1979 suspension and brakes and steering.

Isn't the sumbeam based on the (even earlier!) Avenger floorpan?

Yes, and there was another "warm" Sunbeam, the 1600 Ti, which was basically a cut n shut Avenger Tiger.

I had a sunbeam Ti (twin induction) when i was 18, it could easily whoop the local manta and capri fraternity, and only came to grief when i took down a long fence and parked it in a field on its side!!

them were 100bhp as standard.

Im starting to think apart from a high turbo(welding a biscuit tin to the bonnet) and a couple of wires:eek: this might be a nice job to do yet, I think i will put a new clutch kit in when i drop it all back in, im getting a noise that sounds like the thrust/release bearing when its idling but goes away when i press the clutch:thumbdwn:

Does anyone know where i will get a thrust/release bearing AND gear selector bushes???

My missus ain't anti-skoda she hates driving the felly when the gearstick does more miles than the car;)

i've got a brand new diesel thrust release bearing here somewhere, although if you getting a clutch kit it will come with one
