You buy them with the car.

I think we once did a round up of the costs involved and it was up round £1000 just for the parts.

These are more than likely going to be LHD only. No good for the UK

Did we ever get a decision about the legality of these lights...

...I'm strangely drawn to them.

And the LED tail lights as well :).

They definately legal.

I quite like these lighst as well but as said mybe LHD but i would rearly like a set of the OEM xenon units to put in my car that would look wicked.

Yeah me too but i checked the prices with skoda and it costs at least £1000 without fitting!!

HID lights look the best at 10,000 Kelvin temperature I think. Plus they cost about 1 tenth of the price of OEM's.

And in a standard reflector will just pi55 everyone else off as well as be pretty useless for the user, your back to square one. !0k's are purple and will just get you pulled.

It doesnt annoy everybody. Just the odd person.

How do you know it doesn't? Do you ask everyone you pass?

  • Author

Yup. Bobbies love them.

Just the odd person.

That's the "odd person" too many. Thats like walking down the street and kicking one person in 10 and opposed to everyone. Your making a concious decision to go out and annoy someone. Why? Because you think it looks good? It doesn't. The only people who will care about it (Apart from the crew at the local Mcdonalds who will be amazed and stare longingly from the seat of their scooter) will think about tearing you a new one as you blind them coming the other way.

At the end of the day it's your choice and all we are doing here is offering advice but your considering fitting these lights for some very poor reasons despite the fact they can and will put other road users and yourself at a potential risk.

i fancied the "angel eyes" but then i became drawn towards the OEM xenons. Shame that its a crazy amount of cash to get them tho...........

I already have them fitted. The reason they are on is yeah I think they look good and more and more people are buying them for that reason.....and because they are much cheaper than OEM xenons. I can appreciate the advise, but not everyone has £1000 to spare on lights despite that they dont blind everyone as much, although many times I'v dazzled by those Xenons coppers have on the Vectras and from people who drive the X5's.

I bought Xenons as an option just to annoy others. Thats the whole point of them?

it is well worth the £500 I shelled out..

I have xenons, I also can see other people on the road with xenons.

a few tips for when you see a xenon headlight car behind or infront of you.....

DONT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THEM. and look forward and not at the car coming towards you. You do that and you will end up driving into the car

If they are behind you, dip you rear view mirror if it's so bad. I have never had any issues with being dazzled by others with them on.

I think it's people like these people saying "oo my eyes, I got dazzled" that have come up with all these silly health and safety rules that have spoiled all sorts of events.

Bonfire nights for one!

School trips another!

17" Spyders I know what you mean, I have been trying to find a set for nearly two years :( Any way just ordered a set of Black Angel Eyes for my Fab (we call it WTFWT, after its reg plate) and must admit to having mixed emotions about, but will give them a go, as I can always go back to the factory setup. I'll post before and after shots when they are fitted.

It's a bit difficult to get on with your life after you have had an accident having been blinded by someone who doesn't care. What choice does anyone have when they are just put in the way? It's like slapping someone in the face and then saying well they didn't have to stand there and be slapped.

If you have OEM Xenons or decent lamps fitted then the whole dazzle issue isn't an issue however your posts seem to be just looking for ways to justify your abhorrant attitude towards others.

i have a reaction to people with those daft dazzling aftermarked hid kits that scatter the beam everywhere, turn on all 12 of my huge spotlights on the front of my scania ad watch the prats retinas burn.

 Karma is a beautiful thing!

I have always been tempted to fit some high intensity front & rear white lights to flash those with fogs on during daylight, or no lights during rain :P - probably not allowed though :o

just a word of warning the lamp units shown in the o/p's post are supplied in lhd only and you will have to convert them for rhd use :(

and i dont care what anyone else thinks i like them on my car :P

Ive got a set of the black angel eyes on mine now.

Bought from Callum.

I think they look ok, im pretty sure they are ILLEGAL they wont pass an MOT as the beam pattern is the opposite way.

They are not the best for driving on back roads to be honest, but im not really bothered about practicallity.
