This is an update the fox meet has been changed to the bystander at Wootton near Abingdon as the fox still is closed, we have tried the food out tonight and done a reconnaissance and found it to be worthy of us.

a possibility here - got a lot of weekends out for stuff over the next 2 months and as you saw shes still not lowered properly yet! Mite see if I can tie this in with a trip to milton keynes however.

sms has heard this but is hoping new management will be in place and open by then (the place seems to be cursed). Otherwise it be the apple cart at the milton interchange which is about a mile away unless others have a preference for somewhere else?

they lost it a few months ago with some of the crap they came in with, the chef thought he knew what he was doing and the trade went down like a lead balloon (one of the reasons for the last one being canceled and trying to find another venue).

The few meets we did have there before the menu change was excellent, with great food including my egg, gammon and chips that i love eating in there. but yes this odd menu that came in a few months ago imho killed it.

Looking at the fox website it should now have been taken over by a new licencee type bod so i will take a trip past at the weekend.

The pub next door btw is called the cherry.

Update we have changed the venue to Wootton a few miles away as there doesnt seem to be much news on when the fox will re open.

Already checked out by myself and sinister tonight, huge 70 space car park and loads of room inside and out along with a playground for any kids. I have updated the first post to reflect these changes.

i used to work there. Cant beat the good old hungry horse eh? they had it refurbished about a month or two ago, its not too bad inside now. If you're doing here then i might well come, just down the road from me

we certainly are, we havent had a good oxon meet in months and the venue seems good enough for us with a huge car park and plenty of space inside and out too.

no probs, its a family friendly pub (one of the first things it thought of) if it helps. i have tried a saturday meet before now and that went down like the titanic and many people are not interested in friday meets as they knackered.
