Windscreen = stone magnet

Featured Replies

Has any one else noticed this? My windsceen is full of chips. Most have not been a problem but got one this morning that is right in my sight line and looks like it will soon spread accross the screen.

Oh well - another job to add to the list! :(

Most insurance companies will sort this for you but you have to pay a small excess. Had a stone fly up from a lorry on my old car - huge crack across the windscreen.

Three hours later I had a new screen fitted by autoglass and was £50 lighter in terms of the excess. :thumbup:

my old fabia had a couple chips on the screen both of which appeared in the last month i had it

I've got one chip in the line of site, however 60K miles has taken its toll and the screen is riddled with tiny holes like its been sandblasted.

Got a big chip in mine the day i picked it up:thumbdwn: but got it repaired for free with the insure:D

Isn't there some scientific equation that relates the number of chips in a car windscreen being in direct proportion to the closeness of the distance you drive to the car in front?

Or something ....... :)

I'm on my third windscreen in 30k miles. Not good:thumbdwn:

Ehhh........no :rolleyes::rofl:

I haven't got a single chip and the car is coming up to 45k...

Most insurance offers glass repair for free - new glass with £50 excess and no effect on NCB (although you do have to declare glass claims when applying for a new policy)
