Felicia rear disc brake conversion

Recommended Posts

yet again, this is a thing i've been planning to do for a while now, basically it's a case of finding something suitable and putting it all together

my initial thoughts are to use the rear stub axles/bearings/hubs/calipers from a 6n2 polo

It has been done with VW Passat bits over on this thread Board Message but I'm guessing that link won't work, so sign posts to thread are

yeah it is, i've just come back from the scrapyard and i had a look at a mk2 golf while i was there, couldn't get the brake calipers off though because the bolts were rounded off, will go back with some more tools and have another go later

You must use GIII gti/corrado g60 brakes with ABS sensors...

the polo has the abs sensor attached to the back of the hub rather than on the disc. plus the polo/lupo ones have the same wiring connector so you don't even need to change the plugs over:)

will it make much difference changine the back brakes in terms of stopping performance?

not a great deal no, but disc brakes are imho more reliable and don't tend to suffer from seizing up like drums do

If you happen to come across a mk2 16v stub axle on your hunt give me a shout tom :P.

Other than that I have the complete setup in a box here

is it a left or right one you are after?? they are different....

what set up have you got?? i will consider anything really:)
