I am trying to adjust the clutch on a Felicia 1.6 ( Fun actually). The lock that adjusts the clutch does not move in relation to the cable. Has anyone else had this issue and what have they used to clamp the cable so the nut can be turned?

use a pair of mole grips to hold the end of the cable

Did this on mine and it twisted the thread off the cable doh! new cable req'd

In fairness it looked like the original cable so no complaints really even after soaking in wd40 for ages!

Make sure you get a proper VAG/Skoda clutch cable.

When mine was changed the pedal felt stiff and the cable untwisted 4000 miles in.

Replaced with a proper VAG/Skoda part and the pedal was smooth.
