Do any saloons have rear window wipers?

Featured Replies

I was thinking about this while stuck in a jam on the M6

I understand the logic behind saloons not having wipers, but some saloons have fairly steep rear windows, a good example being the new BMW 3 series.

Ford Orion Ghias spring to mind :D

Standard Mitsub Lancers have them too - tends to be an Eastern/Jap thing really. Pretty sure some Imprezas have them too, perhaps imports. I see where you're coming from though. The argument always was that the aerodynamics of a saloon would move the water from the rear screen. But it's clear with designs past and present that this isn't always the case.

As wardy says, Orion Ghia, can't think of any others.

I can see the logic in it as the boot takes most of the turbulent air about 2 feet away from the window, but have been in some saloons that could do with one.

Some Imprezas had them, and i think maybe some of the older primeras.

Nissan 200 sx, has rear wiper, and I think old Honda Preludes had one as well, cant think of any others though.

Yep, all Impreza saloons imported from Japan have a rear wiper.

306 saloon (except base model) , I've seen at least on merc with one, I think the focus saloon can have one but am not sure.

I am looking at an EVO 6 with one.

When I had the Mazda 6 I Aquapelled the rear screen and there was no need for a rear wiper.

Not one on my Toledo! Doesn't really need it once on the move. Would be handy for first thing in the morning/sitting in traffic

Most useful for reversing after a town drive or trying to reverse park in the rain.

Some Japanese saloons do. And not all hatches need them when moving above about 30 either!

Some Peugeot 406's had them too.
