Why is my Ping so high??

Featured Replies

I find speed test shaky at best. Wildly varying results, I don't know of any alternatives though sorry.

Personally speaking I wouldn't worry about your results Stu.

I would only be concerned if there was an actual problem.

netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled

Also disable IPv6 in your TCP/IP settings as depending on your vista version :) or service pack level it try's IPv6 before 4

switch the whoring vista tcp auto tuning off and give it a try matey

Hmmm, didn't do too well there .....

global command failed on IPv4 The requested operation requires elevation.

Here's a test for you.

Ping using the other machine. Then connect yours to it via crossover cat5, turn off wi-fi and try again.

Your ping should match the other machine. If not then clearly a driver issue. If it does, yet when running alone it doesnt ping well, then check your router settings.

Some routers can throttle everything but the master registered machine/MAC.
