Of course we are, just like all BMW drivers are inconsiderate pricks that think they own the road and have no concept of the correct use of indicators or fog lights

Have you ever been or ridden a high performance bike? I think not.

You obviously do not appreciate the skill it takes to avoid the myopic phone

Are not bikes allowed to be louder as a form of positive discrimination designed to make children more aware of the effects of homosexuality?

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

The thing is, I only know one homosexual person (my accountant), and they drive a Peugot. So applying logic, that makes all Peugot drivers homosexual.

I couldn't care less how much skill is required, how old you are, what sort of bike you have, where you live, what your sexual orientation is, how many wheels you have, or what your prefered type of helmet is, all I care about is why I have to hear you from 1/2 a mile away:eek::mad:

Fair point i suppose ! :D

decat ftw

Its not the exhausts you usually hear, its the engines revving to 10,000rpm that you can hear. And thats because folk on sportsbikes seem to have an aversion to changing up through the gears...

one of my neighbours is a motorcyclist. 7.30 every saturday morning we get woken by him starting his bike and leaving it running on his drive way (lives about 100yds away)then all his mates turn up on bikes revving them and leaving them running while they all pop in and out of his house. then again at mid day when they return.

i have one question for motorcyclist too, why do you ride with your lights on full beam, some can be quite dazzling in the daytime.

Just dug this up, looking around I get the impression that it's a grey area and can be down to the copper who pulls you up. quote's from 69 - 120db have been noted.

Can't even make sense of the gov regs pages.

Quote:

It is an offence under the Road Vehicles (Contruction and Use) Regulations 1986 to modify the exhaust system fitted to a vehicle to increase its noise or gas flow.

no but my opinion is based of two things.

1. live very close to a main road, at the start/end of a longs straight that is used as a speedway.

2. more importantly. A good friend and his 1 year old son were killed when a bike that was racing other vermin came round a corner and into their car. Vermin on the bike was killed but the tank of the bike continued into the car were it smashed into my friend, killing him, and exploded burning his son to death.

all the reason I need to hate vermin

If being against a mode of transport that is very often used for no useful purpose other that joy riding, burning fuel for the h**l of it, and hunting in packs makes me an a**e so be it. I reckon my OP gives me pretty strong reason.

I have nothing against anyone that uses a bike as a normal mode of transport. I car drivers drove in convoys in the manner and as often as bikes do the police would be down on them like a ton of bricks.

never been on a briskoda run out have you....? we have had mincy bikers ring the police and complain about us..... soft tuuats.

Bike noise regs stipulate a certain noise level at a specific point in the rev range. The exhaust noise output needs to be comparatively low as there is noise radiated from the engine to add to the total. Most stock exhausts on bikes are quieter than car systems at the required particular engine speed.

Trouble is that the way manufacturers achieve the low noise level is to build in a flat spot. Replacing the system usually cures this and yields a bit of extra go as well. Add 17bhp to your car, you don't notice it half as much as adding it to your bike. So the regulatory authorities are to blame ultimately, for forcing bike manufacturers to unduly hobble the bikes to meet silly low noise figures as OEM spec machines.

Besides, a noisy exhaust helps those half asleep ****s in cars to be aware of your presence;)

I had a friend killed on his way home from work in Sherifhales near Newport many years ago. He was on a bike, he came round a bend and slid on horse crap that had been left on the road. and broke his neck on a dry stone wall.

So, even though it was a long long time ago, I should, if I employ your reasoning, hate and treat all Horse owners / Riders as vermin as they all obviously had a hand in killing my friend.

And please, get real, Cruises happen with cars, Briskoda has runs out (although they are well organised) all can attract police interest. Hunting in packs .... for god's sake get off your soap box Adolf!!!

The being aware of your presence is the problem - if you in a car with the music wound right up what use is a noisy exhaust approaching from behind you at twice the speed your travelling at? I'd have thought dayglo jackets much more useful and less likely to wake me from being half asleep in my bed:eek:

so you get 20 or 30 conveys of cars bealting passed your door and crazing speeds every sunday (bikes are regularly stopped doing over the ton on this section of road and have been clocked at 130)

Come on, car clubs have a run out now and again but even Briskoda members are more responsible than this.

Anyway, don't want to drag this in to a slagging match so this is my last post on the subject.

So you call me Vermin, but DON'T want to drag it into a slagging match .......... priceless

I go away for a few days and......

Well, slag bikers off as much as you like, but they are more aware of what is happening

around them than the average tw4t in a car.

If I had my way, all car drivers would have to ride a bike before being allowed to drive their killing machines :)

Possibly the best driver training idea yet. vRSLen for minister of transport.

Chris

Still couldn't care less what anyone drives, rides or sh*gs - just want them quieter
