You'll need to ask your dealer.

As stu says, the code can only be supplied by the dealer. The code will not have been supplied with the car either, so it will not have been lost. The dealer will most likely need proof of ownership for skoda, including the HU serial number, the cars vin number and possibly proof you own the car. In the UK the codes are provided direct from skoda only on presentation of this info.

In normal situation the code is stored in the cars ECU, so if the battery is disconnected the ECU sends the code over canbus to the HU. This is why once installed the code is not normally needed again.

Thanks guys, I'll have my local Skoda pusher provide me with the code. Btw, would they or Skoda give me a code card or just the numbers? I guess it would be easier to sell with an official card. And if I where to out the Stream back in, would the code still be stored? (Not that I am going to anytime soon)

just the number I expect.

I think the code for the MFD2 overwrote the code for the stream, that has been my experience with the MFD3 anyway.

when my car decided to code the stereo the only option was to take it on a 50 mile round trip to the skoda dealer with proof it was my car (the sales guy remembered me so was a big help) and they had to put it on their machine to make sure the stereo and car vin number matched the reg on the system before unlocking the code, at this point i did ask for the code and ask for it to be put on the cars notes in case it ever went again.
