Forge 007p with a CAI?

Went to a VAG meet last night and there were a few MkIV Golfs with the same (or v.similar sounding) DV, reversing and blowing off as in that video. Didn't get a chance to look under their bonnets though :thumbdwn:

That looks like an atmospheric one that has been moved from the stock location. I wonder how long it took for his EML light to come on.

This doesn't always happen but usually does.

my forge recirculating dv sounds like the one in the first vid, ive a CAI aswell which improved performance and the sound alot

i got a bailey dv26 fully atmospheric dumpvalve on mine and its pretty loud.car has never missed a beat never had the managment light on yet and its been fitted for about 8 months

Ohh theres plenty of time for the EML light too spring up yet. As the air your venting out into street for everyone to hear is supposed to be going back into the system and has already been accounted for by the MAF. Do you ever intend to map the car ???? As it will deffo send it mental then.

is it possible to map out the light that appears when you run am atmospheric dv? or is that only a temporary fix?

Is it me or does that engine sound like a bag of nails?

Yeah it sounds rough as f*ck

i agree with fatty5000. an uprated recirc will be better if you ever get it mapped. atmospheric valves can cause all sorts of probs with remaps!!

My Bailey DV 26 aint caused no probs at all EML light is constantly on but in my book that aint a bad thing:rofl:!!!! it just tells you that you've got rid of all the restrictive emmissions crap:thumbup:! Why does everyone worry about the EML? just about everything you do to these cars puts on the EML, I may be old school but i don't need a little light on the dash to tell me my cat is missing, i got a loud dump valve, my inttake pipe is too big, my air box is missing etc etc. Anyway how loud your dump valve is is relative to how much boost pressure your running and venting it to the atmosphere or venting it back in to the pre turbo intake shouldn't affect owt on the car if its taken into consideration when its mapped. By the way if you disconnect the battery and reconnect it it will take off the EML 95% of the time - until it comes on again! If you don't ever want the EML to come on then dont mess with your car and dont be a 'pretend tuner':finger:!

these 'smiley' things are ok!!:D

I have had the bailey dv on too and it was fine, the only time it fooked with the car was when going up a hill and puttin the cruise on it was like the engine couldnt make up its mind wether to open the valve or close it so it whistled for 10 seconds then wennt to limp mode. turned off for 30 secs then restarted the engine and it was all fine, no EML.

was a code on vag com thou.

I did some runs on vagcom to see the difference in boost pres. and found the bailey was too week coz the spring takes all the force on it and it was not holding the boost 0.9 was all it held.

put the bosch one back on and it held 1.2 so i now have the forge 007 on and it is nice, makes a nice discreet whoosh with the CAI too, not to loud as to say look at me I have a turbo,

I am running 18psi with my bailey, dunt know what that equates to in bar but i'm sure its over 0.9? The cruise was probably holding the rev's at the point where the baileys seem to stick open causing a severe loss of boost such as you get when you blow an intercooler hose off and thus sending the ecu into limp mode. Once put my cruise on at 130mph in pouring rain to see what it did and that did the same - stuck it in limp mode, wouldn't rev at all!! Before anyone posts anything about me bin crazy - I'm not crazy i'm a pioneer! now I've done it you know what it does! Lol

i found the bailey whistled ant 4500 rpm al the way up to the line. just reving it. not sure what bar my forge is holding now with the remap. i know that the forge wont leak unless the vacume pulls the piston up as the pressure is going into the side of the piston and not pushing on the spring.

18 psi is about 1.2 bar

I reacon if you still have your bosch one, give it a go and do a few runs under the same conditions. i think you may have an increase, pos only slightly.

then it is up to you wether you want the noise or the little extra boost.

you do sound mad though mate, i wont do ne more than 80 in the rain and thats only if it is not hard rain and lots of traffic.

i dont wanna crash so i take things easy.
