Be really interested to hear how it goes - I'm thinking about a remap myself but don't know which one to go for...

I had a custom code remap on my Leon Cupra and now that is blisteringly quick, spins the wheels in 1st, 2nd and 3rd but it was quite expensive.

How much is this one setting you back?

Just about to pick my 04 130bhp octavia diesel up on saturday, its had some kind of 'chip' fitted and it really pulls well!!

ps

thats why i went to ecu evolotion because of your post on cheap air intakes..theve put it up £50 now from £99 to £150 but its still the cheapest about..hope i get the same remap as yours :D.im going to be sat waitnig for the posty in morning:rolleyes:.if any body is thinking of geting 1 off them dont be scared to take your own ecu off..its easy :)

got the ecu back today fitted it this morning and went for a spin...wow..its not the same car anymore pulls like a train over 2and a half thousand revs(even torque steers to the left)best £150 you will spend on your car :) dont no what bhp it is but i love it now

p.s just noticed i cracked the windscreen when i tried removing the cowling on the whipers ARRRRGGGG ..my own fault though i tried to get a screw driver in to pop it out and ended up putting it under the screen without noticeing(gutted another £110 down the drain)

next job poly bushies..ive got the arb bushies and the link arm bushies going to fit them next week.

ive put the ecu removel on incase anyone fancys a go at it :D

Glad you like it, i noticed that the map goes well from low down but at about 4k it kicks in again. For the best effects apply a turbo back exhaust ;)

I didn't bother to remove cowl completely just propped it up as i have heard of others breaking their windscreen changing the pollen filter. Is the £110 for the windscreen the excess from your insurance company?

  • Author

no the £110 is for a new screen fitted from a1 in hull..dont want to claim on the insurrence as im trying to get my no claims up..still on first year

any ideas were to get a new pollen filter..i might as well put 1 in?

Didn't think windscreens counted as a claim?

not sure...so you mean they will do it for nothing :D im only third party

Look in your policy my excess is £50 iirc and it won't count as a claim.

Edit; not sure about third party you need to check you policy but probably won't covered.

Yes Chris I had mine on a Dyno dynamics RR a while back I got 217bhp & 264ft/lbs with turbo back exhaust. I had a couple of runs but my car had gone into limp mode due to the N75J valve i had fitted at the time. They tried it again and it reached the figures i quoted. It may possibly have more power as the first two bad runs may have been effected by heat soak a little.

were those figures at the wheel? been in touch with Chris about remap and just found another £1 down the back of the sofa. 148 more and I'm good to go;)

yes

yes

Are you sure that 217bhp is at the wheels and not at the flywheel, as that would mean nearly 250bhp at the flywheel if you add the losses, with just those mods, and the KO3s runs out of puff before then???

sorry you are correct Gerry, yep it was at the flywheel. forgive me it was early when i posted lol.

I would say pretty well, torque figures are excellent considering i'm not quite running 1.2 bar.Bhp figures are as good and maybe a little better than some non custom maps. I also had AFR read whilst on the RR, it was spot on.

Yes iam am well impressed with the torque it peaks @264ft/lb and holds over 250ft/lb between 3200 4500 rpm... impressive.

I wonder if there is an even better map for when i get my FMIC on?

Not that i can afford it lol.

Nope its a diy job i ain't made of money thats why i got your map lol.

i shall let john know as he likes feedback about his files!!

would that be john of DNA fame?

yes it is
