Why did Skoda NOT do this on the MK 1 Octy

Featured Replies

My rear heated window has gone and its a nightmare in the mornings so just wanted to ask if anyone here knows why Skoda didnt fit this to the MK 1 Octy.........

A REAR WIPER! :(

I look at other newer octavias and they have rear wipers lets face it in 1998 it should of been fitted as standard...

The car has ABS, 4 Electric Windows even Tinted Windows so why miss out something useful like putting a rear wiper on the car.

Im confused lol

The facelifted MK1 Octavia had a rear wiper standard acroos the range (I think).

Yeah - my 2003 Mk1 Ambiente TDI has a rear wiper.

I cant understand why they didnt fit one to mine, they must of thought that there was no need.

If your car is pre-face lift then maybe they realised their design error and then fitted wipers to cars post-face lift.

If the boot design the same on the MK 1 as the MK 1.5?

Wonder if you could get the boot off one and have it retrofitted.

Failing that stick some aquapel or similar on your rear screen when you've got a new electric window fitted.

I have a Y reg Octavia VRS and it has a rear wiper?

From early 2001 onwards the rear wiper was standard across the range.

Y will be post-face lift.

Rear wiper wasn't fitted to imported cars as my 02 vrs doesn't have one.

My rear wiper is pretty useless anyway and the washer jet is crap at best I think it spoils the look too :thumbdwn: would much rather not have it.

mine octavia II 2004 and everyone's in Greece does NOT have a rear wipper and it is major fault. Why not in Greece?

2 possible answers:

Never rains in Greece

or

Cars are always dirty in Greece, so why bother
