Hi All, Well ive bought one, yes an RS, 2002 in Red, 1 previuos owner, well impressed.

I have one Q, mine has no insulation under the bonnet, the dealer says thats normal for the RS, however a work colleage has one, he bought new last year & his has a blanket fitted. Can anyone shed any light on this one please.

Dont have one on mine.......welcome onboard.....

Mine is brand new (March). i too was surprised at the lack of underbonnet insulation, but to be honest, you don't really need it.

I'm sure i've seen on in an accessory catalogue though.

2001 y reg RS here , and a 'bare' bonnet as well!

Another 2001 RS with just red paint on and under the bonnet.

Soundproofing would stop you from hearing the turbo's whistle :D

Snap!

And don't you just love it this time of year when you can drive around with the windows down?:D Though everytime I do this I think of Mr Lucky (?) who drove around listening to the turbo whistle one last time before his RS went back.:(

Wuuuuuuurrrrr, pusssht, wuuuuuuuUUUUUURRRR, pussht, weeeuuUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, pushhht. :D

4x4 no padding; kills the sound of, well as Freakcrab said Wuuuuuuurrrrr, pusssht, wuuuuuuuUUUUUURRRR, pussht, weeeuuUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, pushhht

Skoda used to only fit the underbonnet soundproofing on top models - my 1999 2.0 SLX has it fitted and I know lesser models did not in that period.

My 2001 RS does not have underbonnet insulation - I put it down to the need for letting the extra heat from the turbo dissipate.

Happy days, halcyon days.

The L&K has underbonnet lagging (just checked). I was told by my dealer that the vRS has no underbonnet foam to allow the heat out quickly...
