Well the refurbished rear beam complete with

New wheel bearings

Powerflex bushes

New back plates

Is fitted up, bled the brakes out and was just about to clean the wheels when I realised the time so headed home.

Few things left to do before the weekend, repaint the mesh on the front bumper (temp fix until the black mesh arrives), give is a damn good clean inside and out and strip the tailgate down for repair as someone has been a bit heavy handed with it and put two dents in the boot lid I think from slamming it shut from a few inches high. Which is a little annoying as i've allready painted it once but hey ho.

Hmm surprised about the tailgate, didn't notice any damage on it before it was tweaked :(

Good progress though

Going to have to get a tyre before it goes anywhere as well, one of the rear ones be wrecked on the inside edge.

Drop me a line on MSN - I think it would be better to just get 4 and get it over with, otherwise it will cost more.

Played a little this evening. took all the wheels of and gave them a thorough clean, rust from the brake discs had become stuck on the wheels so them got some treatment with some newly purchased equipment.

A soft faced brush for the face of the wheels and a stiffer spoke brush.

That and a bit of attention with the mircofibre cloth and they came up lovely. A small repair on a new kerb mark on one of the front wheels and you would barely know its there aside from the chunk missing out of the tyre but i've just ordered four Toyo Proxes for them that should be in Monday.

Also repainted the front mesh that had become quite heavily chipped. I have some black anodised mesh ordered but this will do for Spring Festival at the pod on Sunday.

So after work tomorrow its a case of a good wash and some Quick Detailer and we are ready i think.

Looking good

Tyre wise, working on sorting something payment wise, misplaced my barclays pinsentry thing so will have a hunt tomorrow

Fitted the Parrot CK3100 unit and got shot of the visible wiring. Just need to work out how to fit the microphone as the little plastic clip that holds it has gone MIA. Will sort something there. Looks much nicer already without all the loose wiring at least.

You should be able to attach that with some, er, creative Velcro-ing. Failing that PM me and I'll dig out a spare clip from work :)

Hang on a second though, I see Ross is not only using a 2bm to wash cars, but he's offering "detailing services"? You challenging Mr Baker, Ross? :D

There you go, adding 2 and 2 again and getting 5, missing 4 completely.

You can't get specific trims but an order has been placed with KTP ;)

I will second that and fair play............

Ride height looks so much better since I detailed it.................

I see that the 'detailing' collection is grwoing, nice work..............

Looks like it's mostly the front that was dropped, the rear apparently was at the lowest (adjustable) setting even when pulling a trailer.

Waffle weaves, micro fibres, two buckets and a lambswool mitt, look at me go.

Few more mods planned, new boots went on today. Going to try and get the wheel alignment done tomorrow as its well to **** since fitting the rear axle, it had thrown the front right out so it sows how bad the back end was.

I'd do it pretty soon anyway considering what happened to the tyres that were on there, and I'm not buying another set.. ;)

Thought the plan was to do the 4WA at the same time on Monday anyway, come to think of it?

Im sure the knackered rear beam and towing a trailer with the **** end on its bumpstops had nothing to do with it

I would have done it Monday but the alignment gear isnt working since they calibrated it last week.

I know why it happened - and it hit the bump stop about 2x in the whole trip at any rate - just 'coz of the comment that the alignment was far out you wouldn't want it to scrub the tyres in a weird pattern again.

I'm sure it will handle a whole lot nicer & more quiet now it is sorted, plus more stable

Got your fuel cap btw

Not 100% when I can nip down at the moment, will see if I can pop down on Sat all going well

Water softener removal on Wednesday, sorting a web host in Holland for my parents Thursday night, and still got to try to fit the radio to the Seat. If the weather is good on Sat I might end up doing that outside the unit at this rate LOL
