  • I've stripped both cars, cleaned the estate and today i got the engine loom, abs pump, brake lines etc swapped. I had a mechanic friend over doing the clutch, timing belt, water pump, hybrid turbo et

  • Tell me about it, i'm always fixin them. So far in my house he has fitted a dimmer switch, something is wrong here.

  • You excited yet?

Car looks fantastic, remember seeing the donor Vrs underwraps in Unit 18.

The culmination of an excellent job - Nice to see.

The old one is on the back of a lorry with another one, saw it as I drove off ;)

Its nice when a story has a happy ending.

Try wheelsinmotion on here for some custom geommetry settings. :)

Whats the next project then Ross, the Ambulance?

  • Author

Not much point in custom settings as you can only adjust the toe anyhow, although always worth checking everything. Best form of set up is on the road, see how it drives and then adjust accordingly if required.

yep the ambulance is up next, different thread for that though.

Considering how much was changed, the coilovers only yesterday, it is not to be sniffed at though :D

Great to see the project finished

Terrific news and all credit to Ross.

I'm sure you'll enjoy every minute! :drivesaf:

Steve

the ambulance should be far less work though as the shell is staying!

Great stuff

I've just caught up with this thread - it looks brilliant. :)

Enjoy!

Thats what you think.

It is as fully loaded as mine was (admittedly mostly car related in this case though :o )

ill have to pop and see you at some point wiebo, hope you shown it to Jase across the road!!

Hehe - sure did ;)

your going to have to show us the benefits of an LSD and remap on a diesel :D

It is more able to put the power down than without, not as good as 4x4, and it's a bit more nippy ;)

Once we know when the mapping is going to happen, will try to give you a nudge ;)

i'm not the interested party ;)

Who would be the interested party then ;) hehe

Windscreen now replaced - annoyingly no sun strip as the standard car does not have one either :finger:

At least its not got sellotape all over it.

At least its not got sellotape all over it.

that was a good look :D

I thought that was classy

The thing is, the car had a self-protection system, where the tape would come off all the time :P

It appears the windscreen replacement has allowed the scuttle (sp?) panel to be clipped back in again too, as that was worked loose a bit.

The windscreen sure was well and truly beyond repair, so glad that one is sorted now.

It needs a sunstrip though, as unlike the vRS there is no 'sunflap' above the rear view mirror and that's a ruddy pain when the sun is low (which appears to be when I drive to the office in the early AM).

Couple of things to do this Sat, hopefully I can actually help do some of it for a change and we'll take it from there :)

You ain't touching nothing boyo.

I can do wiring :P - but I'll settle for setting up your new PC ;)

I am an electronic engineer officially, should be reasonably ok with wiring still hehe ;)
