Flea-bay MAF sensor?

Featured Replies

I'd be just a little wary. VAGCAT.COM lists 3 different part-numbers for the 2004 1.9 TDI Fabia, 2 for the ATD engine and 1 for the ASZ engine. The seller you linked to only provides a single OEM part-number which happens to be for the ATD engine, but maybe the Octy is different.

I'm not saying VAGCAT.COM is infallible as a reference, but it has proven very reliable in the past.

Prices are good though in comparison to 55/60 from a dealer? Maybe cross-check with the dealer first regading part-numbers.

I'd just buy a genuine one if I were you.

Thanks for the advice. The code matches the code for my Octavia and it's got a 12-month guarantee, what could possibly go wrong

I bought one of the fleabay sensors for my tdi octy and though it ran fine for a while, after about a month ,i developed a flat spot on light throttle. As i had done the cage -mod ,and filled the connector with dialectric grease , icouldnt return it as faulty.:(. Iwent to the local dealers ,and he looked up the part number , and guess what ?--- id been driving around for the last year with the wrong MAF fitted to my car .The one that was on when i bought it was wrong ,and the one i replaced it with was wrong too:eek:. Anyway ,i now have the correct one ,and all is well,so if i were you ,id get a genuine one as they are not that much more ,and they will give you peace of mind:thumbup:

You can get a cheap one for Euro Car Parts for the same price £34+vat I think it was?

I just went for the Bosch maf as it was £56+vat

Have to agree with Fezboy above,i just went to Audi and got one there £66 + vat hopefully reducing any chance of problems:)

I got one for my Octavia tdi110 and it was fine for about a year then developed a flat spot so in the end got one from the dealer (the price had come right down to £66). This has been fine for over a year now.
